@itsgeoffwilson Truly never understood why anyone sends in a card for grading that isn’t at least valued at $500 raw.
Then again, PSA and this “Gem Mint” fascination incentivizes the hobby to send in a $100 card with the hope of “gemming” and then flipping for $1,000. The “hobby” is on tilt.
@PackPerDayHabit@the27guy Boo freakin’ hoo…
He’s owns a 1-of-1 grail that he flaunts and it twists people up that - for some reason - believe it’s unbecoming of the hobby for him to brag about it.
The guy is a businessman and promoter. He’s introducing other celebrities to the hobby.
Good for him!
@SportsdreamW Not at this time. I used FCG because I wanted graders notes and this was before PSA was doing it; plus I don’t like PSA for vintage as they are too inconsistent. Here is the Mantle raw:
@Zcards55 Hard to say. The way I navigate the hobby is when I see something I really want, I sell/trade one OUT to make room for the new one. It creates a double sided decision. I’ve thought about adding the other two 84 Star Jordan cards, but not sure what 2 I would then get rid of.
@UKECB The Pele is from his personal collection. Before he passed, he signed cards from his collection and PSA tabbed them “The Pele Collection” as noted on the label. This one, from his rookie year, holds special value. It has great eye appeal. Only a blemish on the back from glue.
