What happened to the kid in IIT Mumbai was tragic. I cannot even imagine what his parents are going thru right now. You don't wish this on anyone. I hope and pray God gives them strength and support.

But having said that

You can't punish a teacher for doing their job. I mean, as a inviligator you are supposed to catch people cheating in exams. That's what they are supposed to do.

But you are now putting one of the most draconian acts in Indian law on someone who was simply doing their job. You are punishing someone for maintaining the sanctity of an exam.

Which is grossly unfair.

Now In all probability the professor will be found not guilty, but in a country where the process is the punishment, the professor has already been punished severely.

His life has already been impacted in a bad way. For just doing his job.

But that's not all.

By punishing the professor you are also setting a dangerous and a ridiculous precedent.

Now no professor will inviligate effectively or catch someone indulging in exam malpractice

Because you never know what might happen if you do.

My worry is that, this whole episode
might have structural effects on the integrity of the examination system not only in IIT Bombay, but the country as a whole.

Mumbai IIT Prof Suryanarayana Doolla who faces arrest under SC/ST Act after catching a downtrodden student for allegedly copying in exam... doesn't deserve sympathy.

Look at his Bio & realise how he "deserves" arrest.

I'm sure Indian education system is on very correct path. Just a few few more reforms like "Right to Copy" are needed. I'm sure Govt will do that too in students' interest.

@LMC_Lucknow Nobody comes to our godown on Mill Road, Aishbagh to collect garbage. We got the road cleaned at our own cost and sent the garbage to the garbage dump on Bulaki adda. The officials there threatened to do Challan. People littering on the roads are not challaned 1/n

I don’t understand the criticism of serving a vegetarian menu at BRICS. India arguably has the richest vegetarian cuisine in the world, so why shouldn’t we showcase it?
