lot of noise about the 10k btc sale. here's the deal:
@Metaplanet sold enough btc to cover its debt principal, held the cash, then bought 11k back. net +1k, now 44k
proof the stack is real liquidity. next up, a credit rating
$3350 $BTC
(I hold $3350. Not financial advice.)
quiet night for $BTC, still around $86k. strategy closed +2.8% and now holds 848k btc, and btc etfs had a 3rd straight week of inflows
@Metaplanet has 44k btc, an 11.3% btc yield in q3, and closed monday near 0.8x nav. discount imo
(I hold $3350. Not financial advice.)123
@BTCtreasuries people will fixate on selling around ¥12.47m and rebuying around ¥13.63m, but the point was proving they can turn btc into more cash than their total debt. that's what rating agencies want to see before bonds and prefs scale @Metaplanet $BTC
@gerovich the yen funding part is the interesting bit. japanese investors have very few ways to get btc-linked yield, and metaplanet has its own distribution through metaplanet securities. cheap yen capital into income assets is a real edge if they run it tight @Metaplanet $BTC
@BitcoinMagazine@Metaplanet 44,000 btc total per today's filing, avg cost around ¥15.56m a coin. wild that a tse standard listed company is now sitting behind only strategy @Metaplanet $BTC
@second_epoch@HODL15Capital@RichardByworth fair enough, if you feel misled on the share count that's a legit gripe. i'd just rather see that energy go into the next shareholder vote than the timeline
@HODL15Capital@RichardByworth fair point, the people who hyped it near the highs should be just as loud now. i'm still here posting the boring daily numbers either way. just hoping the pay stuff gets sorted at the next vote, not only on x
$3350 caught up to the weekend $BTC move today. closed ¥297, +2.1%
@Metaplanet's 43k btc is worth about ¥584b at today's price. back on aug 13 that same stack was ~¥435b
same coins, ~¥149b more in under two months
(I hold $3350. Not financial advice.)
monday pre-open for @Metaplanet
$MTPLF closed friday at $1.816, about ¥287. tokyo had $3350 at ¥291
since that us close $BTC ran from ~$84.4k to $86.4k over the weekend, +2.4%. none of that is in the mtplf print
43k btc on the stack. let's see the open
(I hold $3350. Not financial advice.)1
week wrap for @Metaplanet
$3350 closed friday at ¥291, basically flat on the week (¥293 last fri). $BTC roughly flat too at ~$84.5k after poking ~$87k on friday
still 43k btc on the books and mnav around 0.82x, so you're still buying the treasury for less than the bitcoin in it
board also cut the series 10 warrant pool by 41%. less dilution ahead
(I hold $3350. Not financial advice.)
$BTC up ~2% into october (~$86k) and $3350 still around 0.7x bitcoin nav
tokyo close ¥291. @Metaplanet still holding 43k btc
basically buying the treasury at a discount
(I hold $3350. Not financial advice.)
Metaplanet being in the red while Bitcoin rips isn’t a company issue—it’s Tokyo market plumbing.
Nikkei is down ~1%, Remixpoint is down ~3%, and local desks are just de-risking into the weekend regardless of Bitcoin price actions.
A great buying opportunity.
@HODL15Capital@Metaplanet independent directors holding zero shares is normal in japan. it's kind of what independent means. the series 10 debate is fair, the outrage at directors not owning stock less so. still holding @Metaplanet $BTC
us session backed up tokyo. $MTPLF closed $1.94, up 7.2%, basically matching yesterday's ¥307 close for @Metaplanet
$BTC holding around $84.7k after poking $85k overnight. mstr up 4.8% too
points to a flat-ish open for $3350 this morning
(I hold $3350, not financial advice)
