Utterly disgusting to see someone- calling herself a journalist- as shameless so as to justify the “other side” Epstein in a bid to defend the Union Government.
Any other person with an iota of shame would have resigned, or been sacked by the channel.
I wonder if this shame, if not morals, exists at all- for the host and the guest laughing and the channel hosting them both.

A huge piece from the under-construction Metro 4 line fell on a rickshaw and a car today.
Similarly a wall had collapsed and the then newly inaugurated metro line 3 had flooded with rain water last year.
Will the regime blacklist this contractor? Not likely- may be it’ll show a penalty of a few lakhs and let the contractor get more tenders.
If you notice, pillars are already painted- before the work was completed. This will cost the State some crores- and then once work is finished, crores again to do them up.
Even today, most infrastructure works have terrible barricading that either lead to traffic jams or vehicles falling into open pits.
Life has NO value under the bjp regime. Falling pieces from metro lines, unsafe modes of transport, cars/ bikes falling into open pits with no help for hours.
What a shame! Soon a day will come when countries will issue travel warnings for such things in our country too.
For the delegates at the @Mumbai_Climate to discuss, beyond the greenwashing by the government.
The bjp government of Maharashtra- truly committed to desertification of our state.
@UNEP
Which sensible, forward looking government indulges in plastering any modern day global city which shabby hoardings to welcome leaders of other countries?
This behaviour means that those in government need some serious counselling in civic sense, maintaining aesthetics and not getting over excited as if we’ve never seen foreign visits before.
Even the coastal road hasn’t been spared by this really silly behaviour of the regime- I thought the CM- who has travelled globally- would have atleast instructed better.
Lay the red carpet, ensure the best comfort, charm them but not with this really over excited, shabby posters and banners.
For any other citizen, it’s a working visit, that should be a non event with minimal disruption- like it is in any other city around the world.
The true beauty of global forums and climate weeks is that opposing views, ideologies can clash, through a process of dialogue, and the attendees have perspectives to take home and enlarge.
May not be the case entirely for the @Mumbai_Climate where those who haven’t had identical political views, matching the current regime, have been kept away.
But the questions exist and need to be asked.
I’ve written a piece for the @IndianExpress on the Mumbai Climate Week. Do read ☺️

While all the sweet talking, formal MoUs and government chatter can happen at the @Mumbai_Climate where global agencies and partners have been invited:
• The Great Nicobar Project that will destroy an entire local ecosystem has been cleared by the NGT- which supposedly is supposed to protect the environment
• The Aravali Mountain Range still faces a real threat from the Union Government, like the Himalayas.
• The State Board of Wildlife- Maharashtra, is committed to allowing mining in the region of the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve and Ghodazari wildlife sanctuary.
• The Ajni Vann in Nagpur has seen felling of trees only as of yesterday. Lush green area in the city with 1000s of old trees.
• The BMC has moved ahead with its plans to hack 45,000 mangrove trees. The joke is, they will do compensatory afforestation in Chandrapur- where Mines are being opened- so the trees felled there will be compensated on another planet may be.
• The BMC also has given an approval to cut 500,000 trees in Tansa Wildlife Sanctuary for a Dam, when they’ve stalled the alternative we had started- a Desalination project without cutting a single tree.
• Pune’s Vetal Tekdi Plan of cutting down the hill for “development” to nowhere hasn’t been shelved.
• Likewise, the narrowing and shallowing of the Mula- Mutha rivers, concretising a natural river bank goes on in Pune.
• The Tapovan Forest in Nashik, faces the danger of being felled by the government to benefit builders.
This is only a glimpse, while rampant deforestation is allowed by municipal corporations for builders in our cities.
Having said that, it’s cute to see the government sign MoUs on “Urban Heat”, and City Climate roadmaps and forcing CSR down this road.
All the jargons are great, all the talk is great, only if government actually meant what it said at the climate week.
