I'm on 7 News tonite supporting Mike Baird's call for the army to be brought in to support #agedcare There are no staff and residents are wailing in their rooms in extreme distress.
Right now in Victoria, if you’re over 60 and unvaccinated and you get COVID, you’ve got a 1 in 35 chance of ending up on a ventilator in ICU. And if vaccinated? About 1 in 244.
@RACGPPresident Pharmacies are not in it for the money. I work in one. It’s more of an inconvenience then a benefit to us. We are doing it for the community.
@JaydeCotic @VictorianCHO @10NewsFirstMelb I heard from a pharmaceutical source, they accidentally defrosted 200,000 vax and it’s about to go to waste. Thus the opening up of eligibility. #COVID19Vic
@janehansen2000's article in today's Sunday Telegraph about NSW Health outsourcing to staff with "Basic Customer Service experience" to check on Covid-19 patients in their 'Hospital in the Home' program.
@kathiemelocco That aligns with our experience.I called western health (which I was instructed to 4 help) & a lovely (but non clinical) person in Albury answered! @janehansen2000 has also been in touch. She’s incredibly empathetic & doing a great job shining light on the flawed program.
@david555555394 @abc730 @nadiasdaly @xanthekleinig This could be true. Ambulance fees are waived for Covid19 positive cases. This information needs to be reiterated to the community if it hasn’t already to avoid the fear of a hefty bill.
William had his first Pfizer appointment booked for October. He ended up dying at home alone with COVID-19. More tonight #abc730 @nadiasdaly @xanthekleinig https://t.co/sXZrNBN47Y
@DrEricLevi Close that window! Block! We have enough drama going on without having to hear from uneducated, misinformed, emotionally challenged antagonists.
We needed an Oximeter for sure! Not everyone is able to articulate their health needs. There are cultural, language and confidence barriers. Having an oximeter for symptomatic #COVID19 would give the public confidence when doing their own health-assessments.
@SquigglyRick If we had been given an oximetre, my husband potentially wouldn’t have needed the extensive and expensive care required in his late admission to hospital. He could have been supported earlier. Perhaps this would have meant less time in hospital and less of a burden on the system.
@Hateonions1 @Barrysnell6 Totally agree! It’s so random as to who suffers serious symptoms and then who has it incredibly mild! Thanks for the message 💓
1/2 What I know so far: His lungs have improved significantly. On admission his lungs were under-inflated. There was patchy alveolar opacities throughout both lungs which is consistent with Covid19 Pneumonia.
