International movement working to end the age of fossil fuels & build a world of community-led renewable energy for all.

Twitter, we would say it’s been a good run, but staying here has increasingly challenged our values without offering much impact.

2025 will be a pivotal year for the climate movement but this is no longer a place where info literacy or accuracy matters, so we’re going elsewhere.

No social media platform is perfect or without its moral complications, and we’re not pretending that’s the case with any new platform that forms.

But we still think it’s worth making the effort.

Hope to see you on the other side!

4/4 "With decreasing demand for fossil fuels predicted in the next 10 years, we know that ensuring the renewable energy revolution is necessary regardless of who is the US president." 🗣️ Jeff Odower, North America Director @350_US

[350 dot org @350]

3/4 As the world’s largest historical polluter, the US can and must do more both domestically and internationally.

The NDC also misses critical and clear sectoral targets for fossil fuel phase out and the renewable energy transition, another concerning omission.

[350 dot org @350]

2/4 The US has seen unprecedented climate disasters over the past year with hurricanes, wildfires, & flooding affecting frontline communities.

We demand 70% emissions reductions by 2030 & more climate finance is desperately needed including funds to communities in the Global South.

[350 dot org @350]

1/4 The US federal government announced its 2035 climate target or Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC): to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 60-61% below 2005 levels.

This is insufficient to stay under 1.5°C & prevent climate chaos. 350 reacts. 🧵👇

Japan’s proposed 60% emissions reduction by 2035 isn’t enough for the 1.5°C goal.

@shigeruishiba, reject the weak target. Align with climate science and adopt a 81% reduction target. Let’s lead for a safer future.

Japan is at a crossroads.

Will @shigeruishiba lead us toward a safer climate future or stick with weak policies that prioritize polluters over people?

Raise ambition. Reject the weak 60% target.

Right after the UN climate talks, Japan proposed a shockingly weak climate target: just 60% emissions cut by 2035–far short of what we need.

This can change. Let's call on @shigeruishiba to reject the weak target!

“The global crackdown against climate activists and groups is one to watch next year. It is clearly part of the fossil fuel industry’s strategy to crush dissent and keep burning the planet”.

Protesters have disrupted the third reading of the fast track approvals bill by dropping down banners from the public gallery @1NewsNZ

[350 Aotearoa @350nz]

The group dropped banners and chanted “this bill kills” from the public gallery. “We refuse to take this lying down - and extractive projects will never have the social licence to go ahead as we resist them at every turn,” said 350's @Adam_Currie_NZ
https://t.co/6HYHHvPlJD

[350 Aotearoa @350nz]

The fast-track bill is anti-democratic, anti-climate & anti-Te Tiriti. It would enable coal mines on kiwi habitat & air-polluting waste incinerator plants communities don’t want. The govts fast-track is like trying to sprint on a tightrope—it’s reckless, dangerous & bound to fail

[350 Aotearoa @350nz]

Today 350 Aotearoa activists took action and got trespassed from Parliament, because the government is breaching democratic norms and isn't following the rules.

We stand unequivocally in solidarity with everyone taking action to make the world a better place, especially in the face of rising repression. ✊️
