Suno - a company that trained on "essentially all music files of reasonable quality that are accessible on the open Internet", and argues it does not need to pay to do so - is now valued at $5.4 billion.

They will pay for GPUs, and for engineers, but not, apparently, for the music they use - other people's music - without which their models would not work.

I know lots of musicians who will be upset. I am with them.

@Rob_ThaBuilder @DrPlantel I think women should get as much support as possible for postpartum. No one is going to argue that anyone should get more time/support for a hernia. Creating unrealistic and adversarial arguments does nothing to further practical ways to support moms.

@Softykjr @GovBobFerguson It's this ITEP study he is citing. It's related to sales tax being our revenue driver vs income, lower income = sales tax is a bigger percent of your income on consumption taxes. He also omitted these are state/local taxes, not accounting for federal and business taxes

@Softykjr @GovBobFerguson I don’t know the specific data he is referring to. If it is accurate it’s probably due to very high earners getting most of their income from capital gains and or business which have more ways to optimize tax strategies bringing effective tax rates down.
