As we approach July 4th, I’m grateful for the unwavering commitment and sacrifices of US service members around the world. Today I visited Incirlik Air Base in Adana and met some of these brave men and women, as they stand shoulder to shoulder with Turkish counterparts to promote regional security and stability.
(2/2) Her visit reflected the ongoing cooperation between the U.S. and Türkiye and highlighted Incirlik AB's role in promoting regional security, empowering our NATO allies to lead on their own deterrence and defense, and supporting IAMD across the NATO mission set.
(1/2) We were honored to host Ms. Katherine Thompson, performing the duties of Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs, during her visit to Türkiye. At Incirlik AB, she met with @39ABW leaders and @EjercitoTierra forces defending NATO’s southern flank.
Airmen assigned to @39_ABW conduct explosive ordnance disposal training at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. These exercises prepare technicians to safely detect, disarm and dispose of explosive threats, ensuring the safety of both military personnel and the surrounding community.

U.S. and Turkish personnel offloaded 101 tons of humanitarian cargo from a Ukrainian Antonov AN-124 Ruslan in support of families affected by the earthquakes that struck Türkiye on February 6.
U.S. Navy members offloaded humanitarian cargo from USS Hershel “Woody” Williams in Mersin, Türkiye, Feb. 28, 2023 to transport supplies for earthquake victims. We remain committed to successfully completing the mission of supporting humanitarian relief to our NATO Ally Türkiye.
In the aftermath of the earthquakes that struck Türkiye, Airmen of Incirlik AB such as SrA Klchosky assigned to the 728th AMS sprang into action to support the Turkish government’s recovery efforts.

In coordination with 39th ABW Operations Support Squadron, the 728th AMS and 721st APS unloaded medical shelters and equipment at Incirlik Air Base, Türkiye, Feb. 18, 2023. The cargo was delivered to provide aid to those in need following the earthquakes that struck Türkiye.
In response to the Feb. 6 earthquake that affected Türkiye, @SecBlinken came to Incirlik AB to see how @NATO service members load humanitarian cargo onto trucks bound for disaster relief areas. He also met with @USAID members to thank them for their rescue efforts. #TürkiyeHADR
We continue to respond with humanitarian assistance to the devastated regions in Türkiye and Syria. The @statedept, @usaid, @deptofdefense, and @usembassyturkey team are working around the clock to help get supplies to those who need it most.

USMC Brig. Gen. Andrew T. Priddy, Task Force 61/2 commanding general, arrived at Incirlik Air Base, Feb. 9, 2023. USAF Col. Calvin Powell, 39th Air Base Wing commander, greeted Priddy upon his arrival. Task Force 61/2 is responsible for coordinating joint U.S. military efforts.
Searching for live victims occurs around the clock. Rescuers on the @USAIDSavesLives DART are working diligently in Adiyaman to find any possible live victims still trapped in the rubble after the #earthquake.
