@vers_laLune Dubs are largely done by competent voice actors now. Anime is not high art and is just another storytelling medium that's largely full of second screen content. Watching anime subbed forces me to watch mid-tier second screen content on my primary monitor.
@shheeeeeeeeeitt@Clav0Updates It's actually tragic how easy it is for me to get sex with a hot woman if I want it, but impossibly difficult to get an actual relationship with the same woman.

That's at minimum still a 2x bodyweight bench. Let's see you put a 2x bodyweight bench up that fast, bounce as hard as you want.
Except sleeves are effectively wraps-lite and you CAN use those in powerlifting.
"Straps limit grip" is a cope and a half when every serious powerlifter eliminates that with gritting the pain of hook grip anyways. Even then, deadlift isn't a measure of grip strength and no one pays attention to powerlifting deadlifts.
Powerlifting also doesn't require the full range of motion. Low bar squat to parallel is comedically low ROM compared to high bar ATG.
At that, explain why a bench REQUIRES a pause, but a squat doesn't. Oh, that's right, you can't. Bouncing out of the hole on a squat is just as helpful as bouncing off your chest.
Deadlifts may be a dead start from the ground, but any good deadlifter will drop their hips right before they lift to elicit a stretch response, similar to bouncing off the bottom of a rep. The fact that you single out bench as a holy lift where stretch response is never allowed is comical, especially with all the controversy over the years with super wide grip and giga-arch 2" ROM powerlifting bench presses.
Belts, which are also legal in powerlifting, do not help your lower back at all. They only help you create a stronger valsalva. If you think a belt helps your lower back in any way, you're even more uneducated about your own sport than you think.
But what do I know? Despite pushing for 1300 next year, I'm happy with my current 1200 total. Is that an elite total? No, but it's enough to know when you're spouting random bullshit.
@iafineden@KrisSchnee In theory, the combination of kanji and hiragana is superior to kanji on its own, since it allows for things like complex verb conjugation and modification of the root kanji. However, the downfall of the system is that kanji frequently have many, many different readings.
@cluckingchooky@sanson_ganbaru As an English speaker, japanese without kanji is much harder.
There are so many japanese kanji that have the same readings, if we take "kou" and "tai" for instance, there are 8 words that are koutai and 16 that are taikou. Their definitions are largely completely unrelated.
@NathanielW72701@slim11336@liftbyIron And powerlifting also doesn't accept straps in deadlift. As a powerlifter, no one cares if a bench press is with a pause unless it's being done at a powerlifting meet.
@KliffnoMadoshi@tuseroni@KrisSchnee Yes. Japanese has a set cadence for syllables. English will jam sounds together at varying speeds. This is why a Japanese speaker will pronounce a word like "temperature" as "tem-pu-ra-chu" in English, where we would say "tem-pra-chure".

Yeah, and the other one that gets invalidated by an artificial womb.
