Paypal lancerà una stable coin $PYUSD su Ethereum.

Un po' di pensieri a riguardo...👇

Ormai è palese come il settore delle criptovalute interessi a tutto il mondo istituzionale. E non è che hanno cambiato idea da un momento all'altro...

Secondo me hanno guardato i profitti di aziende come Tether, Binance e Coinbase e si sono fatti un'idea sul volume di denaro che circola in questo ambiente, che, per quanto piccolo, si aggira comunque sui miliardi di $ al mese in termini di revenue (considerando un po' tutte le grandi aziende).

Un mercato goloso per non entrare a gamba tesa e offrire prodotti analoghi a quelli già presenti, ma con una storia alle spalle ben più lunga e con relazioni più radicate con il settore istituzionale.

Alla fine si tratta semplicemente di prendersi le commissioni su tutto:
- trading fee
- revenue generate con le stable coin (vedasi PayPal)
- fee di eventuali ETF (vedasi BlackRock), che oltretutto sono spesso molto elevate in questo settore.

Alla fine è comunque un win-win. Per loro perchè si prendono le fee. Per noi perchè sicuramente consentiranno l'ingresso nel settore a tanta liquidità (e tante persone / aziende) che non avrebbe trovato modo e spazio di inserirsi altrimenti.

Concludo con delle piccole osservazioni su alcuni tweet che sto leggendo stamattina e che vedono come assurdo il fatto che il presunto (e sottolineo PRESUNTO, dato che non c'è alcuna conferma ufficiale in merito da parte di PayPal) contratto di $PYUSD abbia delle funzioni che consentono di:

- blacklistare indirizzi
- emettere nuovi token
- varie altre operazioni fortemente centralizzate

Vi stupirà sapere che hanno funzioni analoghe anche USDT, USDT e tutte le principali stable collateralizzate con $ reali.

Si tratta pur sempre di aziende centralizzate che emettono stable coin centralizzate su un sistema decentralizzato quale è Ethereum.
