Australian supplier of Polymaker, Bambu Lab, Creality, xTool, Magigoo, Ultimaker, Formlabs, Raise3D! Visit us at 1 / 1265 Main North Road, Para Hills West, SA.
Make sure to visit us on Friday before 5pm for your long-weekend filament needs โบ
We will be CLOSED on Saturday June 6th & Monday June 8th for Kings Birthday Long Weekend. Business as usual again on Tuesday 9th June.
@RMinns@ley_ury57532@loyalmoses If it's with an order you don't need to pay additional shipping, just if we sent on its own.
Sounds like a plan, spool is safe in our stache for now. If ordered online just reference me and the spool in customer notes field, otherwise yeah pop me an email next week๐
๐ฅ ABS just evolved!
Meet the new lineup:
๐ตABS: Reliable everyday performance (95หC)
๐ดABS Pro: Higher heat resistance for demanding applications (105หC)
โซ๏ธABS Max: Maximum heat resistance for extreme performance (115หC)
Three temperature levels. Choose your edge. ๐
๐ข $1 will be donated towards Voron Design for every Voron Red spool sold to support the future of 3D printing technology!

@RMinns@ley_ury57532@loyalmoses Easy, easiest for me is to just include in your next order, otherwise I could kindly ask colleague to quote me a freight price. Let me know what you want to do ๐
@RMinns@ley_ury57532@loyalmoses Hey Ricky, we never stocked creator spool, but I do have an open test spool of the colour in PLA Pro basically full. It's yours if you want it, free but we can't cover shipping cost. Side note for sale we have 3 left of the old PolyLite PLA Metallic Dark Green.
@GreeneElizabeth@Polymaker_3D Tangle from factory can only occur at the start of a spool if the employee let go of the filament tip when spool finishes winding.
For the user, there are many opportunities for them to let go of the filament and create a tangle.
Seen a rising trend of "respoolers" in customer conversation. PSA don't do it friends! Spools are not equal, @Polymaker_3D for are very intentional about spool design. If you crack a plastic spool or dent a cardboard spool there are better solutions.

@GreeneElizabeth@Polymaker_3D Fair points, I suppose we have avoided that tape at end of the filament issue.
Mid-spool tangles are physically impossible from factory, so rewinding won't change that.
@Phi_Lho@Polymaker_3D 2/2 Rewinding twice I've heard .The other idea could be to heat the material after rewinding to try and relax the polymer chain.
Success could be very formula based. Heat to release stress may be too close to Tg. CF is probably too brittle to like being rewound at all.
@Phi_Lho@Polymaker_3D Fair point, regarding intention we have.
1/2 Better solutions are also reliant on good equipment and "skill". If we don't provide the experimental solutions, we avoid people trying a solution we suggest, failing and blaming us.
to be contrarians.... rectilinear should be the default!!!!
1. Straight lines for maximum VROOM
2. Tighter fill for the %, better supporting large flat top surfaces with less risk of pillowing or top layer gaps.
My favorite is Adaptive Cubic now. But it's in the group of infills where print time changes dramatically between layers, even on models with constant area across all layers ๐ช Big big no no on smaller models where you hit the cooling minimum layer time threshold, makes very visible artifacts on perimeters going from shiny to matte in a repeating pattern. Not that long ago we added "Consistent surface" slowdown logic in @PrusaSlicer, basically solving the biggest issue. But I think there's one more blocker to deal with for good.
I'll dig up my notes from last year, I was doing a deeper dive into this, but tldr: the whole 3DP community including us kinda picked the non-optimal path when it comes to balancing print time, material use, and actual strength.
Thanks @3DInPhil for the poll ๐
Unsure why anyone would buy filament without a spool?
Refills were proposed by Richard Horne back in 2018. the benefits were lower manufacturing cost, shipping cost and less waste. The concept became more mainstream when Bambu Lab filament spools were designed to be reusable.
Your lazy Sunday is ALMOST over, distract yourself from thinking about work or school and grow your 3D printing skills with BambuLab Academy. Our favourite is the course on Bambu Studio slicer!
