Parenting is unpredictable.
You can do everything “right” and still get a bad result. You can do everything “wrong” and raise a champion.

Focus on being a strong example, not following some perfect manual that doesn’t exist.

My daughter came home from third grade crying. Not regular crying. The kind that comes from somewhere deep. Took an hour to get it out of her. Boy in her class. New kid. Wore the same shirt 3days in a row. Kids noticed. Started saying things. She’d tried to defend him. They turned on her too.
Asked her what she wanted to do. She thought about it. “Can we get him some shirts?” Went to the store that night. She picked them out. 5 shirts. Nothing fancy. Just clean. New. Asked the school counselor to give them to the family quietly. Didn’t want anyone to know it was us.
Counselor called back. Family was living in their car. Mom and 3 kids. Shirts weren’t the only thing they needed. Started a fund at the school. Anonymous. Other families contributed. Got them into temporary housing. Then permanent. Mom got a job. Stabilized.
My daughter saw the boy wearing one of the shirts 2 weeks later. Came home different. “He smiled at me today. Real smile. Not the fake kind.”
