I get that some people might like "simpler" experiences, and that Eternal can feel stressful. But man... 2016's gameplay feels so stale after playing Eternal or TDA.
Also saying that 136 layoffs are deserved, is being a scumbag, plain and simple.

Bizarre for Microsoft to be like “we’re focusing on Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein” and then gut half the studio that created these IPs.
And super sad on the eve of The Dark Ages expansion, a moment that should be exciting for the team.
Microsoft gutted the fundamental pillar of western gaming industry, one of the few studios running its own proprietary engine which is also one of the most influential engines of all time only because Dark Ages sold poorly?
That is not a long term planning, that is stupid
id Software was one of the few AAA studios that was doing what people have been asking AAA to do: deliver highly technically performant/quality launches consistently for single player experiences and without predatory microtransactions.
I don't like to sound negative but after Revelations I think the DOOM IP is going to take a massive nosedive in quality.
It is talent that makes an IP have value, Mario and Zelda have huge brand value because most of the devs who worked on the original games are still there!
When you gutter most of the talent that helps foster that IP, then its inevitable the IP will lose value, Microsoft doesn't seem to understand this concept.
If Xbox wasn’t so far up their own ass, they would have not fired the iD tech engine team and instead selected it as the premiere Xbox game engine, usable by anyone under the Xbox umbrella. Zero licensing costs. Bolster their team so they can adapt it for more game types. Insane.

Eventually, even digital data will no longer be owned by individuals on their own initiative. Whenever there is a major change or accident in the world, in a country, in a government, in an idea, in a trend, access to it may suddenly be cut off.
Sony is currently charging $70 for God of War Ragnarok digitally. It is $32 at Wal-Mart. The game is 4 years old.
People will no longer have options after 2028 and will HAVE to go directly to Sony’s digital storefront and pay whatever PlayStation says.
