“This sport should be popular on every campus in the country…”
Troy Coach Skylar Meade is one of the most fascinating coaches in the sport. Here’s what he had to say when he was asked what makes College Baseball so unpredictable:
College Baseball post season is the best. But we’ve gotta keep it a little on the down low. If it gets too much excitement, the NCAA and ESPN will do their best to completely ruin it.
@OlDirtyMonarchs@GfedGoCrazy There are quite a few, especially if your arena was built before 2000. It’s generally a few sections behind the basket making up a small percentage of total seats. UVA has bleacher seating behind one basket at JPJ, mostly band and students there.
Here's a crazy @d1baseball nugget that I stumbled upon...
In 2026, there were only 9 teams (2.9%) that avg'd at least 5 IP from their starting P.
3 are tourney teams - Auburn, Louisiana, Northern IL.
In 2021, 76 teams avg'd 5 IP (26%)
In 2017, 137 teams (!!!) avg'd 5 IP (46%)
Congratulations to @YuliiaStar17 !!! Yuliia beat #2 in the world Elena Rybakina to advance to the third round of the French Open!

No. It doesn’t need more access. Teams need to strive to be better, not have the bar lowered.
8-4 teams with zero ranked wins and zero wins over bowl eligible teams shouldn’t have “access” to the CFP for some unexplained reason.
They do, however, have access to bowls.
If you are one of the many concerned about the number of players in the portal each cycle, @coachfinny5 lays out the why pretty clearly in this episode.
New @HudsonHomers dropped this morning. @cbwi1k, @3GWilliams and @coachfinny5 recap the 2026 season and react to 5 SBC teams making the NCAA Tournament. Plus we get great insight to the process of year end player meetings and why players hit the portal.
