451 is the antithesis of 1984. In 1984 the people secrectly yearn for freedom and oppression is just the cause of tyrannical gov but in 451 all of the oppression that the people go thru they put on themselves and like it that way. The 2 seem to contradict on human nature #APLAC3

Why is montag surprised that the firemen are coming to his house? He hasn't even tried to be subtle man. He literally just got done yelling poetry at a couple of unsuspecting housewives and made one cry. Then the other bascially called him a witch #APLAC3
