Founded by 3 educator moms, 3MT is a test prep program they would want for their own kids. ACT test preparation should be affordable and available to everyone.
Do a burst in each section.
Set out your stuff (photo ID, admission ticket, pencils, calculator, snacks) the night before the test.
SHUT OFF YOUR PHONE!
You can do this!
Good luck tomorrow!
General Strategy Pro Tip-
Process of Elimination (POE)
You receive all the answers when you get the test. Sometimes it pays to find the ‘unanswers’ first and cross them out.
ACT Reading Tip-
Remember that you need more time to address the 10 challenging questions in the Reading section, so you should not spend too much time in the pool.
The questions will bring you back into the pool/passage to answer many of the questions.
3MT Science Reasoning Tip-
80% of what you do during the science reasoning test is to analyze charts and tables.
You need to be very comfortable doing this, so you can do it quickly!
3MT Science ACT Tip
The "Arguing Scientists" questions will contain references to different people's opinion. Most test takers get confused because the questions may change the wording to be different from the passage.
Be on guard!
Reading Strategies on the ACT-
As you do your burst tonight, try a strategy you haven’t used before and see if it works for you.
Options include:
2-1-1-F
3MT
Bracketing
(Read Q’s 1st)
Math on the ACT Test
Triangle FACTS: The sum of the angles in ANY triangle = 180 degrees.
A triangle is RIGHT (90 degrees) ONLY if they tell you it is!
Pythagorean formula holds for right triangles ( a & B are legs, c is the hypotenuse) a2 +b2 =c2
English pro tip: how do you fix this comma error?
Jack is a slacker, Lindsay isn’t.
Use the 3 Amigos! All are equally correct!
1) Jack is a slacker, but Lindsay isn’t.
2) Jack is a slacker; Lindsay isn’t.
3) Jack is a slacker. Lindsay isn’t.
Whether you are a new or returning 3MT student, we have a sweet deal!
