My sister is a GP. She emigrated to Canada last year
What she loves more than double the salary, being respected, finishing on time, and having direct access to any investigation she needs, is the 20-30 minute appointments with her patients
Pretty sure her patients like it too
Amazing how a dog can transform in just 4 weeks. On Christmas Eve she was hiding in 7-11 after having boiling water and oil thrown over her. She wasn't too sure about me at first 😬😬😬
Things have certainly changed today (1/6) 🧵
Eve - Love Will Always Beat Hate 🥰🙏🐶
Christmas Eve was when the messages started coming in about a dog who had oil and water thrown over her. A tourist had spotted her and been trying to care for her. Initially we’d been told it was an accident but the story started to get fairly confused in person. Some locals told me and my friend Sybille it had been done intentionally and she’d been allowed to shelter in the 7-11 as she was in so much pain.
There’s no point getting angry in these situations as the dog is the only priority initially. Eve had a very tough first 24 hours as the vets couldn’t do much for her beyond pain meds. She wouldn’t eat a thing, drink water or even pee. She was like a rock and shaking in pain. We actually were so worried about her we had to force feed her with a syringe and get her medicines injected. I think a lot of it was pure shock mixed with pain.
Shes started to trust us now and relax. She is an unbelievable patient as I think Eve knows we are helping her. She’s still not eating much and clearly has a huge journey ahead but we hope she is out of immediate danger.
Given what she has been through I thought it was only right to give her one of Tina’s old collars and bandanas to give her a little dignity and hope. 🌸
It’s only been 4 days but things are looking up for little Eve 🙏🥰
Prepare to smile with joy and relief…
This is Shaq. We took him in off the street on the 15th of October. His outlook was very bad as the mass was growing fast.
About 40 days later everything has changed for this lovely boy… (1/6)
At 16, I was placed in a bedsit with two older men who were both alcoholics. The place was dangerous and unsuitable for a 16 year old boy leaving care and starting an independent life. No one listened when I begged for somewhere safe to live. I ended up falling behind on my bills because I had no money or support, and before I knew it, I was homeless. That's how quickly it can happen, and you have no control over it whatsoever. It is not a lifestyle choice. @SuellaBraverman
“They completely destroyed an eco-system in 1 day & all the wildlife..
didn’t even leave the trees on site to let small animals or bats or insects to crawl out, put it straight into the chipper”
