When a disaster strikes, vulnerabilities are magnified, exposing them to increased risks of exploitation, displacement, and trauma. The aftermath of a hurricane can mean losing what little security they had, making survival even more precarious.

Thank you @Imani_Barbarin. As of now we have $200k in requests and we have sent out around $42k between our $20k and the money we’ve raised so far. We will continue to send out money as it comes in and get whatever we can to whomever needs it, including after Hurricane Milton.
The lack of clarity for Texas doctors navigating the abortion ban continues. Meanwhile, we're seeing an increase in maternal mortality, pregnant patients bleeding out in ERs, miscarrying in public restrooms, losing reproductive organs, and nearly dying before receiving care.
Budgets are moral documents. The fact that we have so much money for bombs and so little for healthcare, food, and families is an atrocity.
And no, we will not stop talking about this as a reproductive justice issue, no matter what funding gets pulled from us.

Again and again and again — cops lie. They lie. All the time, and especially if they are implicated in violence themselves. This is well established and documented, and yet another reminder that when media outlets repeat police narratives unchecked, they are spreading copaganda.

Because you aren’t paying attention or listening to the sex workers who do the work.
There are over 230 sex worker led NGOs and grassroots organizations in the US alone. A small samplingnof them include:
@strippersunite successfully sued their state for Pandemic Unemployment Benefits. @DecrimNY overturned the Walking While Trans ban. @JaredTruEsqueer became a lawyer for the NYS @aclu. @NicoleG_801 successfully sued her college for $1.7 Million under Title IX for discrimination & graduated from law school. @DesireeAlliance has written a policy for the UN. @swopbehindbars provides re-entry services for criminalized sex workers. @3Wave operates a sex worker-lead giving circle that provides vital funding for sex worker organizations providing direct services to community members. @UrbanJustice’s Sex Workers Project is a sex worker led org that sues companies for labor disputes and helps migrant sex workers with immigration. @ZeppWellness & @BluePearlLLC are a sex worker led organizations that provide therapy services for sex workers. @swopla provides resources including money and harm reduction supplies to street-based workers in Los Angeles.
Would you like a list of NGOs in India, South Africa, Kenya, Australia, France, Sweden, Norway, et al?
