@girlziplocked yep, it's very good. it studies a lama who recently achieved rainbow body, and then goes into a very careful emic / etic description of both Dzogchen and eastern Christian mysticism. i couldn't put it down.
@girlziplocked "The Rainbow Body and Resurrection" Francis Tiso
Part ethnography, part philosophical thesis, tracing the origins of Dzogchen from the Syriac early Christian mystics to the Nyngma & Bonpo wandering yogins of greater Tibet.
@girlziplocked Depending on how these people set up their meta-analysis, the mean is probably the wrong metric to be using to pool results from individual studies. Also 1 in 800 is really suspect. Sounds like the campaign didn't understand microtargeting.
@DrJoanWeller1 with all due respect, you should look up Romneycare.
single payer, like #MedicareForAll, is more robust politically than a public option because it is a shared social good, like eg social security. #CaucusForBernie
@DrJoanWeller1 the ACA was a Republican policy that originated from Romney. it started as a concession. furthermore, a shared public good like #MedicareForAll is much harder to kill than a means-tested augmentation to the welfare state. #CaucusForBernie#BernieSanders2020
@DrJoanWeller1 it's probably too late for my dear friend, but thanks for the advice. it may not seem politically easy right now, but a majority of the people of this country want #MedicareForAll. if we fall short, at least we can say we tried. #CaucusForBernie
