Having your electricity shut off cause you had no idea how high your bill was (my name is not on The account) when you have a kid is….. something.
I hate to ask because I know everyone is struggling but anything helps. This is a new low for me and I don’t know where else 2go.

I thought payments were being made but they were not. Completely blindsided.
I am still on leave but am set to go back to work 8/19. I have 1/2 of payment but still need $755.

People hate on Sha’Carri Richardson since she is not their vision of a respectable Black woman athlete.

Sha’Carri has tattoos, is queer, not light skinned, wears long multicolored weaves and long nails many consider unprofessional, “ghetto and too Black.”

Her name sounds Black and we live in an anti-Black world. Regardless, Sha’Carri is unapologetically herself She’s not trying to assimilate to Eurocentric beauty standards.

She won’t adhere to respectability politics to gain the “respect” of racists and self hating Black people. Sha’Carri exercises boundaries with the public and press in ways women athletes are told not to.

When you can’t be controlled and are happy with who you are and what you’ve achieved your confidence will be seen as a threat to those without it. That’s why she’s an icon. 💜

We should celebrate that not shame her.
