How is that even comparable? The origin can differ from Donner's vision without turning into Gunn's "sovereign" version. Jor-El sending Kal with selfish reasons is not the same as him advising Kal to rule over the earth. That's an entirely different motive.

Again, the the benevolent god-figure Jor-El who sends his only son to Earth to be a beacon of inspiration was an invention of the Donner movie and was done to both make the Superman movie appeal to general audiences in America at the time, as well as a way to convince Brando to be Jor-El (since he'd basically be playing God).

Prior to the Donner movie, Kryptonian society in the comics evolved into a very strictly and arrogant scientific society that refused to listen to Jor-El's warnings about the planet's core about to explode. Jor-El simply sent Kal-El to Earth to save him from the destruction of the planet; the whole "light to show the way" BS was invented by the Donner movie.

Superman's goodness came not from Jor-El sending him to be a beacon, but because he was raised by two kind farmers in Kansas. Gunn's Superman understood that better than any Superman movie before it, and people are mad because it didn't follow the Christ metaphor that Donner invented fifty years ago.

Absolutely false. The entire plot of the first episode was leaked in advance, and I vividly remember reading about the story of a Mandalorian going to retrieve a 50-year-old target, only to realize it's a baby of Yoda's species, a few weeks before the pilot aired.

People forget how Favreau kept the Grogu reveal completely secret until the final moments of the first episode of the series. Leading up to that no one had any idea about "Baby Yoda." That major plot element was kept completely secret for months.

And it could've leaked, the Grogu puppets were very visible on the outdoor set where they were filming the series. Observers just chose to keep it quiet and not spoil (also because they didn't know how a Yoda puppet would fit into the show).

If you actually watch the footage this was pulled from he is not grieving. He is an introverted billionaire who had spent forty years carrying a franchise on his back and was finally ready to be a father and a philanthropist. Beyond the money he was also exhausted by a vocal segment of the fanbase that spent a decade dragging him for the prequels and the special editions. He famously asked why he would keep making movies when everyone just yells at him all the time.

He spent years meticulously preparing Lucasfilm for this transition so he could retire with a massive stake in Disney stock that has since ballooned his net worth into the stratosphere. The idea that he was sitting there filled with immediate remorse while signing a deal that secured his legacy and his family for generations is just fan fiction. He did not lose Star Wars. He won the game and walked away from the toxicity with the biggest check in Hollywood history. Sometimes a neutral expression is just a neutral expression and not a silent cry for help.
