A check must be done, he is banned, that check would detail the reasons why. Either no check took place (extremely worrying) or it was ignored, there is no other explanation.

It takes a lot to be barred from working with children, highlighting how serious and damaging his offences are.

Embarrassing comment from you, no one has said he’s a nonce, he’s just unfit to work with kids. If he was at my club I’d be extremely worried about that decision.

To add to this, I was suspicious of Drew Povey when I listened to a podcast were he claimed to be a rugby coach. Following that, I asked him for some advice on completing my Level2 qualification but it was clear he had no idea about the criteria. Makes you wonder if he was lying?
