@PapasCigars@BrysonGray Christianity is not false, but you're right, nobody should be supporting what this man did, nobody. In God's eyes this preacher man sinned, no one is perfect and Christians sometimes sin, but he needs to confess what he did was wrong. If he doesn't, he should not be a preacher.
@BrysonGray "Retarded?"....You're better than that, at least I hope so, and the last couple weeks after reading your posts, I have thought of you as an intelligent man of God. You have much wisdom to impart, but this was not wise.
It says nowhere, no, not anywhere in scripture, the words; "by faith alone" It does not "literally" say that at all friend. "By faith alone" is what is taught, but not what it says anywhere in the word of God. It says "by faith" many times, but the word "alone" does not immediately follow it anywhere.
No one is currently in the Lake of Fire. Unbelievers will not enter the burning lake until after the resurrection and Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15).
Today, when an unbeliever dies, their soul goes to hell, not the Lake of Fire.
Yes, for the Jews, not the gentiles.
Ex. 31:16-17
16. "Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
17. It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
@Belisarius2020@GodlyAction You named that "churches" weren't in the bible and we all know that, he named "TEACHINGS" that weren't in the bible. Big difference. The subject is what is taught, not who is teaching.
Yes, but for Gods people the Israelites only. It was not a command for the world, but solely for the nation of Israel which God chose to set apart from all other nations.
Ex. 31:16-17
God chose the Jews to be set apart and different from all other people. He choose them not because they were more righteous, he simply chose them for his own reasons. He gave them the law which contained hundreds of commands, not just the ten commandments. They could not eat pork, but that wasn't a law for other people, just His people, and the Sabbath was the same. He was setting apart a people for himself. The relationship that was once for Jews only, became for everyone through Jesus. No longer are laws written on stone to be followed, but the law of Christ written on our hearts. The 1st covenant has passed, and a new one is here.
Abraham listened to God and left everything behind, living in tents instead of a house. He believed what God said about him having a son, even at his age, and he also believed God and had enough faith to sacrifice his only son who God said would bring a lineage as numerous as the sands of the sea. He knew God would keep His promise no matter what the circumstances, and THAT is what was accounted to him as righteousness. It had nothing to do with the Sabbath at all my friend, but everything to do with the faith he displayed.
Again there was no law until God gave it to Moses. The 10 Commandments, (as well as many other laws) established the keeping of the Sabbath. Before that, there was no Sabbath keeping law. You still haven't shown me any verses showing the Sabbath was kept and practiced before Moses.
The command to keep the Sabbath didn't come until God told Moses. God may have sanctified it in Gen. 2, but there was no command to keep the Sabbath until Moses. Not one man of God before Moses is shown to have kept the Sabbath. You cannot find the keeping of the Sabbath by men of God before Moses anywhere in scripture. The Law was given to Moses. Jesus fulfilled that law.
Yes, the first time God told Moses to strike the rock (foretelling the Messiah being stricken at His first coming) and the second time God told Him to speak to the rock, but he disobeyed and was punished for not properly giving the "symbol" God had wanted to convey. (As @KnerrNate noted)
