That take is wild, bro. Claiming Mainoo has the edge over Jude just because we are talking about a "normal" midfield role is a massive stretch.
People love to box Jude in as just an advanced playmaker or second striker because of all the goals he scored last season, but they forget how he actually bossed games for Dortmund and early on at Madrid as a complete, box-to-box central midfielder. Even when he is playing deeper or controlling the tempo, Jude's press resistance, physicality, defensive work rate, and ability to drive a team forward from the middle of the park are elite.
Kobbie is cold as ice on the ball and has incredible press-evading press resistance for his age, but he’s still developing the physical dominance and all-around presence that Jude already has in a traditional midfield battle. Putting Mainoo ahead of him in general midfield play right now is pure bias.
