11:24pm UPDATE:
A line of storms is moving into NWA mostly after 12am.
Severe winds are the main concern with the line, along with some flash flooding. Isolated tornado possible. Watching them.
Likely moves thru much of the River Valley by early AM, same concerns.
9:00am UPDATE: As expected, these showers lost their steam while moving east. This is not the main event for today. Right now the focus is on a line of storms tonight. There is also the possibility of an isolated severe storm this afternoon, but it is not a certainty. #arwx
7:27am UPDATE: There are a few heavy showers off to our west. I'm expecting these to continue to weaken as they push west. Could bring some gusty winds and heavy rain to parts of Northwest Arkansas and the River Valley. #arwx#arkansas#weather
6:07am UPDATE: Here is a look at today's severe risk. The showers and storms forecasted for today look to move in late this evening into the overnight hours. The highest risk is over parts of Benton and Carroll Counties. Straight-line winds are the biggest threat. #arwx
11:21pm UPDATE: A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for parts of southwest Benton County and western Washington County until 12:00am. Winds gusts up to 60mph and nickel sized hail is possible with this storm. #arwx#arkansas#weather
11:09pm UPDATE: Well, after hours of slowing down, the line is finally starting to move into our area, expect heavy rain, gusty winds, and a light show this evening. #arwx#arkansas#weather
10:31pm UPDATE: Watching this cell to our west for the next chance of big rain for most of Benton County. Not severe at this point but will be quite the light show with heavy rain. #arwx#arkansas#weather
8:32pm UPDATE: This system is moving slowly southeast. Not much movement, could take a while longer to make its way into Northwest Arkansas. #arwx#arkansas#weather
5:57pm UPDATE: Showers and storms still off to our south and west. A few severe thunderstorm warnings are out for strong straight-line winds. #arkansas#arwx#okwx#weather
TON of lightning with those morning storms in NWA. Monsoon-like rains & a bit of flooding, too.
Here's what it looked like as they came thru Lowell.
10:51am UPDATE: The Flash Flood Warning for Benton County has been extended to 12:30pm due to the additional rainfall expected from the cells to the north. Please be cautious around high water. #arkansas#arwx#weather
10:01am UPDATE: Although the main line has started to exit the area, we have a few cells that have developed over Southwest Missouri into Benton County. These brief heavy downpours could bring some more flash flood issues to the area. #arkansas#arwx#weather
8:40am UPDATE: A new Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Benton and Washington Counties until 11:45am. Please stay vigilant on the roadways today. #arwx#arkansas#weather
