Unto Jesus, not unto men
In our lives, Jesus wants to be Lord of all. Rev 3:16. What version of Jesus do you believe? The false preached Jesus that following doesn’t come with a cost? The one that keeps you comfortable, the one that keeps you just the way that you are? The one that tells you everything that you want to hear? Or the True and Risen Jesus? The one that calls you out of your comfort? The one that calls you to give up your sinful and selfish will? The one that calls you to sacrifice? The one that does come with a cost and calls you to fully surrender and submit to Him no matter the cost? The True and Risen Jesus is who we should all desire to believe and follow. Not the American version, the watered down version, or the Jesus we made up in our mind. But the true Biblical version. Because that Jesus is the one that lives and sits on the throne, the only one that can save, the one that heals, and the one that transforms.
“Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:31-32
🚨 THE MISSISSIPPI MIRACLE THEY DON’T WANT YOU TO SEE
American 15-year-olds just posted near-WORST scores ever on a key global reading and math test.
Meanwhile Mississippi, once ranked 47th in 4th grade reading… is now 9th.
Adjust for demographics?
NUMBER ONE in the nation in 4th grade reading and math.
NUMBER ONE in 8th grade math.
A Black child in Mississippi is 2.5X more likely to be proficient in reading by 4th grade than a child in California.
They spend about $11,000 LESS per student than Massachusetts and they’re beating them.
How?
Science of reading.
3rd grade retention if you can’t read.
Charters in failing districts.
School choice for special needs.
RAISED standards, not lowered them.
Governor Tate Reeves: conservative reforms + accountability work for EVERY kid.
Blue states keep dumbing it down.
Mississippi raised the bar, and the kids met it.
This is the model. Copy it.
I am officially endorsing Toby Thompson (@405toby) for the Oklahoma State House of Representatives in District 47.
Toby Thompson is a God-fearing, family-first conservative who represents the very best of Oklahoma values.
A lifelong resident of Mustang, Toby is an oil field worker, small-business owner, former teacher, and current Mustang School Board member who understands hard work, faith, and service to his community.
Toby spent 15 years working on drilling rigs in Oklahoma’s oil patch before becoming a successful businessman and co-owner of Okie Storage Solutions. He knows firsthand the importance of protecting Oklahoma jobs, cutting burdensome regulations, and keeping government out of the way of working families.
As a strong constitutional conservative, Toby is unapologetically pro-life and believes life begins at conception. He is a firm defender of the Second Amendment and believes law-abiding citizens should never have their constitutional rights infringed upon.
On education, Toby has been a strong champion for parents’ rights and traditional values. As a former teacher and current school board member, he has fought to keep woke ideology out of the classroom while supporting teachers, discipline, transparency, and academic excellence.
Toby strongly supports law enforcement, opposes sanctuary cities, supports the deportation of illegal immigrants, and believes taxpayer-funded benefits should be reserved for American citizens.
Most importantly, Toby Thompson is a man of faith who believes in redemption, personal responsibility, and serving others. He and his wife, Markie, have faithfully served their community and church for years, and Toby regularly ministers at rehabilitation centers, sharing the hope of the Gospel.
Oklahoma needs more strong conservatives like Toby Thompson fighting for faith, family, freedom, and the Constitution at the Capitol.
Toby Thompson has my complete and total endorsement for Oklahoma State House District 47.
I proudly ask the voters of House District 47 to join me in supporting Toby Thompson.
Joseph of Arimathea pulled a corpse off a cross with his bare hands.
Blood under his fingernails. The weight of a dead man sagging into his arms.
He wrapped God in linen, pressed the fabric into wounds that were still wet.
Nicodemus brought seventy-five pounds of burial spice. A king's funeral for a man the world just murdered.
They carried Him into a hole in the rock and rolled the stone shut.
And everything you've ever done went in with Him.
Every night you can't sleep because of what you did. Every morning, you can't look in the mirror. The thing you did to her. The thing you did to them. The
lie you've been carrying so long it feels like bone.
The version of you that drinks alone and pretends tomorrow will be different.
That man was buried with Christ.
Stone sealed. Done.
Not managed. Not in therapy. Not on a payment plan with God where you slowly earn your way back. Buried. In a tomb. Under rock. Gone.
Three days of silence. Three days of a cold body in the dark.
Then the stone moved.
And when He walked out, the grave clothes were folded on the slab. He didn't stumble out tangled in death. He left it sitting there like a man who's done
with the clothes he used to wear.
Lazarus needed someone to unwrap him. Death still clung to him even after he was breathing.
Jesus folded His own burial linen and walked out clean.
That's the difference between religion and resurrection. Religion unwraps you slowly. Asks you to manage your sin. Attend the class. Read the book. Try harder next week.
Resurrection says the man who walked into that tomb is dead. The man who walked out doesn't know him.
You're not fixing the old you. The old you is in a sealed tomb in Jerusalem, and he's not coming back.
The man reading this, the one who thinks he's too far gone, you're not too far. You're already buried. The funeral happened two thousand years
ago.
Now get up. The stone's already moved. The linen's already folded.
Walk out.
Republican voters in the #Mustang area will choose either Kevan Gentry or Toby Thompson as their #okleg HD 47 nominee in the Aug. 25 #OKGOP runoff.
Both men spoke about their campaigns with @mattpattokc.
