@ecutruin@PaulMassey1 AI is a commissioned artwork done by a machine, based on a general direction given by a prompter. A rough idea does not make it your art.
@hawkwardart@PaulMassey1 True. But is it your visualization if you give general direction and let the machine "think" of something. Not your style or skill. A commissioned work does not make it your art.
@CozomoMedici I never left but I just had to commit to supporting my family. The space became a jungle full of scammers and cash grabbers. This time, I will take my time and see how it develops. No rush. If it's the same story, bystander will become my permanent role here.
@PaulMassey1 I admire your devotion to the NFT space. But I think it is delusional to believe NFT art will ever become mainstream. Tech will definitely keep its place in the future. But the ART will always be a small market for enthusiast collectors and passionate artists.
For someone that is tired of the banality and platitudes of this space and who is interested in supporting real art and discourse there are 2 valid options:
1) become indifferent
2) going the hard route and infiltrate these structures continually with playing the social attention game focused around understanding attention spans and still deliver content that goes beyond surface level
Worst is staying here and just complaining without every bringing a constructive thought.
It’s always easy to criticize something and hard to try to change it.
It’s tiring, it feels senseless and not important enough but every social change in any field started with one person caring.
So if you have the time try to disconnect yourself from the tricks that your mind is playing you and keep on doing things that could bring the change you want to see ❤️
Being busy is a form of laziness—lazy thinking and indiscriminate action. Being busy is most often used as a guise for avoiding the few critically important but uncomfortable actions.
So sad to see some great and legendary designers become a part of "elite", and support big names, even if their work is crap. Literally kissing ass for nothing.
I am away for some time. Honestly, I had to focus on my work and supporting my family. But I really love how the art community is still thriving, beyond NFTs. Ppl are creating. Less junk, more quality.
@The_Kid_Icarus@SuperRare I assume there are too many inactive buyers or new NFTs. They are trying to protect both sides, and themselves above else. This will be very hard considering the climate.
