Gamers flooded the stream with “NO DISC NO BUY” as backlash over PlayStation’s move away from physical games keeps growing. The protest comes after Sony’s plan to stop releasing new physical game discs starting in 2028.

Sony may be pushing toward digital, but a loud part of the PlayStation community clearly isn’t ready to let physical games die. 💿🔥

Sony planned to move PlayStation toward digital-only games by 2028, but new rumors suggest that transition could now be delayed by 1–2 years.

The backlash is also reportedly growing at Gamescom, with concerns from gamers and parts of the industry over Sony’s disc-free strategy.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is reportedly considering keeping physical games on its next-gen Xbox, while potentially allowing players to convert physical discs into digital licenses.

If these reports are true, Sony may be starting to rethink how aggressively it moves away from physical games - especially with the PS6 on the horizon.

The message is simple:
