After jurors saw photos from Austin Metcalf's autopsy following the stabbing at a Frisco track meet in April 2025, the state rested their case. https://t.co/ryqtlqqUlm
@NikkiArcane@_LaJanee_ The primary issue is not about "object permanence," but about the transparency and integrity of reporting. The defense team has provided consistent, evidence based arguments that are being systematically excluded from public coverage, which creates an incomplete biased narrative.
Are there any attorneys covering the Karmelo Anthony trial? These live updates from fellow journalists are collapsing testimony from witnesses and it’s frustrating. They ain’t telling us about any sidebars, objections, mannerisms or nothing.
That same witness testified Anthony said, “Touch me and see what happens.”
Metcalf responded: “I’m not going to fight you.”
Then put both hands on Anthony’s shoulders and pushed him.
Under cross-examination, the witness admitted Anthony was not yelling.
One witness placed Anthony behind the tent, not under it.
Two witnesses contradicted their own original statements.
One said “Metcalf tried to force him out because we didn’t have any other choice.” Will the jury see this as an admission of force?
Six student witnesses testified for the prosecution. Every single one used the same language: “Anthony provoked Metcalf.” That’s witness prep. But witness prep only works better when accounts are consistent.
The state has rested in the Karmelo Anthony trial after calling only 21 witnesses. They were expected to call 35. Hunter Metcalf, Austin’s twin brother, never took the stand.🧵
🚨DAY 3 OF TESTIMONY🚨
Another teen is testifying in the Karmelo Anthony trial this morning.
Prosecutor: "Was it your impression Karmelo Anthony was trying to provoke Austin Metcalf?"
Witness: "Yes."
Prosecutor: “What did Karmelo say?”
Witness “He says he wasn’t leaving and says a profanity.”
Prosecutor: “What did Karnelo do?”
Witness “He was starting to get more aggressive.”
Prosecutor: “What does he say next?”
Witness: “F you all. I’m not going to leave. You’re all a bunch of pussies.”
Prosecutor: "Did Austin respond to being provoked?"
Witness: "He put his hand on his shoulder."
Prosecutor: "Was Karmelo Anthony acting in self-defense?"
Witness: "No, that's lethal force against non-lethal force."
🚨UPDATE🚨
The medical examiner, Dr. Elizabeth Ventura, just testified.
The medical examiner testifies that Austin was stabbed once in the chest.
The stabbing pieced a portion of his heart and the bone on his center of the chest.
The knife went completely through Austin’s heart wall.
The prosecutors were trying to show a photo of the autopsy. They walked the photo to the defense. Karmelo looked away.
According to the Daily Mail, one female juror was “covering her mouth” when she saw Austin’s heart.
Both Austin Metcalf’s parents and some of his family left the room to avoid hearing the details.
Karmelo Anthony’s mother also walked out.
Also worth nothing:
Under §46.02, there are no restrictions on a minor carrying a blade under 5.5 inches in Texas.
That means under Texas law, Karmelo Anthony (who was 17 at the time) was not prohibited from carrying that knife. It wasn’t illegal for him to have it at all, but was it illegal to have on school premises.
