An independent political organization (IPO) in Edgewater, Uptown, and Andersonville dedicated to leftist causes and the multiracial working class of Chicago.
Our membership will be determining our strategy for the next few years between now and Inauguration Day. But we can promise you one thing:
We aren’t going to let a Republican administration have their way in Chicago without a fight, and you shouldn’t either.
With a little more than one week left to go before the fundathon ends, we have crushed our original goal and raised $3,386 for the Chicago Abortion Fund! We are so grateful for all the support our members, neighbors, and friends have shown for abortion care access.
If you live outside of the 48th Ward, message your alderperson and ask them to support R2025-0015954! And if you do live in our ward, keep contacting federal representatives like Senator Tammy Duckworth to demand Mahmoud Khalil's release!
Spectacular news: Alderwoman Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth has co-sponsored a city council resolution calling for the release of Mahmoud Khalil, an activist, green-card holder, and political prisoner that the Trump administration is trying to deport for his pro-Palestine advocacy!
Thank you to Alderwoman Manaa-Hoppenworth for standing up for Mahmoud, whose abduction represents an attack on everyone's rights. If we want the resolution to get a hearing in the Rules Committee, we will need as many city council representatives as possible to support it.
If you live in the 48th Ward, Rep. Schakowsky and Sen. Durbin have already called for him to be released. Please call to thank them for denouncing Mahmoud’s kidnapping, and tell their colleague Sen. Duckworth to speak up!
Rahm Emanuel didn't rule out another mayoral run as his post-Japan media tour continues.

We’re proud to announce that our IPO has formed a Chicago Abortion Fundathon team with 46th Ward Neighbors United! All proceeds are going directly to the @ChiAbortionFund, which offers financial assistance to people seeking abortion care in Chicago. (LINK TO DONATE IN REPLIES)
But we need your help! Check out our team link below to help us meet our initial fundraising goal of $2,500. You can also use this page to join our team, and help us raise even more!

Supporting our team will help patients with the cost of travel, childcare, and related expenses. As nearby states like Missouri, Iowa, and Indiana continue to restrict abortion care, it is more important than ever that we make sure Illinois preserves access to it.
Next Tuesday at 6PM the Peirce School Racial Equity Parent Group will be hosting a FREE screening of the 1965 debate between James Baldwin and William Buckley at Raven Theatre, followed by a discussion. Students and parents are particularly encouraged to attend!
PS - not in the neighborhood, but want to post something similar on your block, in your break room, or as part of your bulletin? Shoot us a DM or email us at [email protected] and we’ll pass along the template!
Thanks to the members and friends who helped us put up knowledge your rights flyers this afternoon! Join us tomorrow in Andersonville to spread the word!
We’ll be canvassing the Ward this weekend to make sure people know their rights and how to deal with ICE activity. Come out with us and help us keep our neighborhood safe!
We cannot allow any of our neighbors to be held hostage by Republicans in DC. Join us in Seneca Park this Saturday at 1PM to demand that Lurie Children’s Hospital stand up for trans Illinoisans and continue to provide gender-affirming care.
