A little surprise for the West of Dorset this morning, but more than suggested.
Busy day with RTC’s and people getting stuck. Then came across one left in the live lane after the road being opened up.Was moved to a place of safety ⛄️⛄️

🤔 “Why do I keep seeing officers messing about on their phone rather than working?”

👮‍♂️ Over the past few years, we’ve been working on improving the technology that officers have access to so that they can remain out and about in our communities without having the need to return to a computer at the station.

Everything from police intelligence, current incidents awaiting response, who is in custody, contact information for other services such as vehicle recovery or undertakers, driving licence information to statement taking and pocket notebooks are now all accessed through their highly secure police mobile phone.

Almost every task can now be done while out and about via a mobile phone, airwave radio or laptop.

When you next see an officer using a mobile phone in public, rest assured they’re working hard to keep Dorset communities safe.

Do you know your limits in a van or a goods vehicle up to 7.5 t….. Think a lot of drivers are unaware of this.

Another Late shift completed, Busy night with plenty of incidents attended. First outing in a new car and it went into limp mode on a blue light run ☹️Pc rain even came along at the end of the night ☔️☔️

No rain at last!! Myself and my Inspector went to the West of the county yesterday evening and Patrolled some ASB hotspots as well as some hi-viz patrol of some of our towns. Also helped out with some grade 1 incidents.
