@ripjetson9 I see this one broke on the left side by the brake. So the heat is a good idea. However, there have been several breaking on the right side of the case. What would cause that?
@BrianRDunlap@mbmotorspt When I was a kid USAC checked tire pressures and other things in staging before a car went on track each time. If there was issues with a part it was either resolved or didn't race. Maybe we are back to that level of tech.
@The_Work_Area@SprintCarcast The worst down time Friday night was the safety vehicles that it seemed like the drivers had never done this before. The UTV, couldn't figure out how to push Thiel to the work area, just 1 example.
@_EricArnold@carson_macedo@DominicScelzi Another point, people go to hockey game, knowing they could be injured/worse by a puck leaving the ice rink. Baseball fans go knowing a ball could come into stands & injure them. Since debris is an issue, maybe tracks can install netting to protect fans like other sports.
@_EricArnold@carson_macedo@DominicScelzi Hiding behind the race fan safety argument is getting old. Non-racers think a fuel cell leaves a car it's a big flaming fireball that could go in stands. I've seen fuel cells leave the car & not a 1 on fire. Because there is no ignition source. Now this, how many happened?
@chadkemenah Not sure done for the night is tough enough penalty. May also need a monetary fine. Hitting people in the pocket book will catch their attention.
@carson_macedo@_EricArnold@DominicScelzi Another possibility is wheel manufacturers building a mud cover into the wheel & will skyrocket the right front wheel cost. Rule makers seem to have a goal of raising the cost of racing. The current tire & wing rules sent the cost of shocks skyrocketing.
Stop w/ uneducated rules
@carson_macedo@_EricArnold@DominicScelzi Another rule that adds cost to racing. Now teams will have to spend money on having to polish the right front wheel continuously to reduce the likelihood of mud sticking. Cost of polishing supplies will be more than the mud cover.
@carson_macedo Back to the question on who decides on these rules. Stupid, now they will have yellows or reds because guys are trying to race a car that is not driveable.
@ripjetson9 Not a one can.
Also, I asked WoO why they made the safest front axle that didn't break illegal & was told no one used it anyhow. I use them, had too many issues with thinner wall tubing front axles.
@ripjetson9 The other issue I see is improper use of safety gear. Sunshine admitted his head & neck restraint wasn't adjusted properly the first time he broke back. Seen others with their device behind them instead of on shoulders.
IMO, there is no education on proper use of safety gear.
@ripjetson9 I haven't been in a car in a few yrs. I mounted my seat on a tilt. We use a polymer block under & behind seat. No concussions or broken back. Still doing the same with my son.
@JMRacing14@ripjetson9 Back to Flea's point about rigidness. Manufacturers are making parts more rigid that were previously the weak point. It seems like the weak point is just being changed. We need to decide what the best weak point is. It's probably better to have rod ends break than axles.
