Official Trailer | Sojourners & Exiles
Follow this account for updates on how to watch our new film (Available to stream and download by the end of this upcoming week). It explores Jesus' command to deny yourself and take up your cross, in light of the glorious hope of the world to come.
Watching the explosion of Jew-hatred both inside and outside the church is incredibly discouraging. On the other hand, none of it is random—it’s 100% prophecy unfolding on the world stage. If Israel were now irrelevant, the world wouldn’t be obsessed with destroying them. The hatred only proves what Scripture declared all along: Israel is still at the center of God’s plan. The rage against the Jewish people exposes the lie of replacement theology and confirms the truth of God’s Word that Jesus the Messiah is coming soon to fix this mess.
We’re called to take up our cross, put our hand to the plow, and not look back—and if we do, per Jesus, we’re “not fit to serve in the Kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62, CJB). The upside in the “upside-down” Kingdom is that God puts our suffering to redemptive use. It also makes sense of our suffering, when we view life through the lens of the Scriptures. How did the patriarchs, prophets, and apostles handle the issues of deep and profound pain in light of the “good news”? @quicklikesand is joined by Stephen Holmes and @reedsmith36, the director of @49tenfilms’ latest, ‘Sojourners & Exiles’ for a vibrant discussion surveying these questions and more.

Jesse and his team @send56 are one of the few ministries on the ground locally that are able to rebuild homes. 20,000+ refugees from the Christmas Eve attacks alone, with many more coming as a result of more recent attacks by the same group.
If you were encouraged or even challenged by the testimonies featured in the Sojourners & Exiles documentary, than its worth considering giving back to these communities in the form of material relief and getting them back into homes. LINK HERE: https://t.co/fsVcJzxIVy
***It's also worth noting that Rehila, one of the amazing witnesses to the Gospel of the Kingdom featured in the film who lost her father in the attacks, is now working directly with Send56 in an administrative capacity to help coordinate the relief effort.
We just uploaded an extended conversation with @JesseDigges where he details the latest round of Jihadi attacks in Nigeria, exploring both the historical context of the conflict and practical ways that we can support the suffering Christian communities there.

Promises to the Patriarchs - Sojourners & Exiles Clips
"For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written:
“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
I will sing the praises of your name.”
Again, it says,
“Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”
And again,
“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
let all the peoples extol him.”
And again, Isaiah says,
“The Root of Jesse will spring up,
one who will arise to rule over the nations;
in him the Gentiles will hope.”
Romans 15:8-12 NIV
What will you do when the time of Jacob’s trouble will arrive? Will you stand with the Jewish people? Or will you close your curtains in that final hour or tribulation?
Powerful words from @Joel7Richardson from the documentary Sojourners & Exiles. A must-watch! @49tenfilms
“Those who escape the coming wrath will inherit "resurrected" bodies— that is, "eternal life" or "immortality" which are generally associated with the renewal of creation as a whole. With angels and fire, the day of God will usher in a renewed heavens and earth, suddenly and cataclysmically reversing the tide of depraved human history.
Moreover, these events usher in the messianic kingdom. In light of the idyllic Davidic king found in the prophetic literature (such as Isa 9:7; 16:5; 55:3; Amos 9:11; Jer 23:5; 33:15; Ezek 34:23), the apocalyptic tradition projected these expectations to their ultimate conclusion.
…
This messianic kingdom is presumably what most Jews thought of when Jesus and his disciples spoke about “the kingdom of God”.”

For those interested, here's the article on Matt 12:28. Hopefully this will help the church someday move on from the nonsense of realized eschatology.
