Author event today! Very excited to embark on my 2nd author event for Beautiful Torments. I’ll be setting up at a coffee shop. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Check out Beautiful Torments on Amazon, KU, and Barnes and Noble.

I’m extremely grateful to have sold almost 100 copies of Beautiful Torments in under 3 weeks! Oddly, I have very few KENP reads - I’d love for you all to take advantage of that format and ready my book 😁!

Day 11: when did I start writing?
My first work was freshman year, when I wrote a short sequel to The Most Dangerous Game. I took a lengthy break but started writing again in 2016 after reading Red Rising.
Day 10 for #FantasyIndiesApril Exploration in WIP.
For Shadow of Dawn, Draxton and his family explore the city of Thronefire before meeting with the Magistrate of Ascension to review his application to move from the et to ak class.

Who else wrote a book with one POV being a teenager but the themes were on the more mature side (nonsexual)? Did you market to the young adult/teenager audience? If so, how?

I know author events for indie authors can be hit and miss, so I’m eternally grateful to have sold almost 20 copies of Beautiful Torments at my first event, which also had a pull through effect of 10 online sales. 2 more events to go!

@klhicks912 From Beautiful Torments, Jacoby, because I wrote him as an actual teenager who behaves like a teenager. I had to constantly fend off thoughts of dozens of unrealistic teenagers from a small army of YA novels/shows.
Day 9 - what do my characters take for granted?
For Beautiful Torments:
1. Jacoby takes for granted the power of deep, meaningful relationships.
2. Susan takes for granted what drives her to discover, confront, and root out the evil in the world.

@BookSpotlight Thank you for the platform! I’d be honored if the community checked out Beautiful Torments! A supernatural mystery. Death begets immortality.

@MeganGrant333 Susan might be for you! A tormented, late-twenties female protagonist (1 of 2 POVs) who is hunting down a decades-long serial killer. Don’t worry, you’ll find a fantasy element in the shadows.

I typically do not enjoy rereading books. The exception being the release of a new book in a series that I love, which means I reread all the previous books in the series - obviously! I’ve read a lot of Red Rising over the years.
