@812filmreviews Gerwig isn’t. Peele MIGHT be because of his comedy background. But it’s a good point: maybe there AREN’T any directors under 50 who’ve achieved celebrity status from their directing career🤔
@The_GM_is_God There’s literally tens of thousands of working actors out there. For every character that’s ever been written, there are HUNDREDS who could play it brilliantly, each with their own unique interpretation. You’d have to be hilariously closed-minded to think otherwise.
@mmuk64 I too once believed that industry awards carried weight, maddened over each inane outcome. Eventually, I came to accept the pointlessness of it all. Now, whilst others pettily squabble over differences in taste, I simply smile and enjoy great art. Wouldn’t have it any other way.
Only one thing left to do at this point:
Good morning. In less than hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. Mankind. That word should have new meaning for all of us today.
We’re fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday. But as the day when the world declared in one voice: we will not go quietly into the night. We will not vanish without a fight.
TV movies are movies.
Streaming movies are movies.
Theatrical movies are movies.
Why do people get so hung up on the semantics of film — what’s the point, outside of pretentious/elitist gatekeeping?
