Our students did an amazing job on their first attempt of their elephant drawings. We are learning about the celebrations of India and the importance of the elephant festival. We can’t wait to share the final product.

Today for Pink Shirt day the grade 3’s had the pleasure of listening to author Teoni Spathelfer read her book, “Little Wolf”, which was all about showing kindness to others. #PinkShirtDay @4_belpark

Today we did a visualization activity around lollipops. Visualizing is a reading comprehension strategy in which students create pictures in their minds as they are reading or listening to a story.

To celebrate “World Read Aloud Day” our students listened to author David A. Robertson read his story “On the Trapline”.@BelParkCBE

Yesterday students participated in a one day lacrosse residency. They learned many new skills. @BelParkCBE

Students are working diligently on their weaving. Traditional weaving is an extremely important craft in Peru. Peruvians have been using woven garments for thousands of years. @BelParkCBE

To reinforce our learning on multi-digit addition students learned the game “Baseball Addition”. This is a great game for all mathematical operations. @BelParkCBE

Students enjoyed and were highly engaged in our Rocks and Minerals in school field trip. 🪨

This week our students spent time in our school garden harvesting the lettuce, cucumbers and carrots.🥕🥬Afterwards we made a delicious salad and then used this as a procedural writing experience on how to make a salad. We are so grateful for this outdoor learning space! #BelPark
