Today, 10th July 2019, marks 51 years since the formation of The Light Infantry in 1968. They would go on to serve with distinction for nearly four decades, until they were finally amalgamated with three other regiments to form The Rifles on the 1st February 2007.

The Duchess of Cornwall today attended a medals parade for the 4th Battalion The Rifles at New Normandy Barracks, Aldershot.

The Duchess has been Royal Colonel of the Battalion since 2006.
