@boip_25 Elections in the North are never free or fair. There is semblance of freeness in the urban areas but you see the rural areas? Madness. Muslim Muslim ticket was basically APC doubling down on the North. They needed it by all means.

@Etubom__ Southern votes were going to be split 3 ways. PDP had structure in SS, Obi had SE and Tinubu had SW. APC needed huge numbers from the North. Atiku was the only realistic Challenger for votes in the North. Northern sentiments against Igbos was always going to work against Obi.

@Etubom__ Nigeria is a deeply divided country with several fault lines. Without Obi, Atiku may have clinched it. Atiku was the only threat APC had in the North, reason they doubled down by going with a Muslim Muslim ticket, knowing that the south would be pissed.

Rivers Politics:

He allegedly directed members of the Rivers State House of Assembly not to pay a condolence visit to Rotimi Amaechi, despite Amaechi’s former position as Speaker of the Assembly.

He also reportedly instructed the Chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government Area not to visit Amaechi, even though Amaechi remains one of the most prominent politicians to have emerged from the LGA.

Similarly, the council chairmen were allegedly directed not to pay their respects to Amaechi following the death of his mother.

Wike himself did not pay a condolence visit to his former political boss, despite the role Amaechi played in bringing him into the political mainstream and giving him the platform that contributed to his rise.

All these didn't satisfy his bitterness and vengefulness.

Now, the chairman of Ikwerre LGA has been directed to host a political event on the very day Amaechi’s mother is being laid to rest.

Nyesom Wike remains a subordinate to Rotimi Amaechi, and Wike would never heal.

@sidramatics I don't think he sacrificed Lagos. No way he would have willingly lost Lagos. Lagos has a large Christian population, large population of other tribes so it was easy to see why Obi won.
