Harry Kane reflects on an incredible year 🏆✨

The England and Bayern Munich striker expressed gratitude for the recognition and showed appreciation to those close to him who have been alongside him on this journey 🗣️

"Being here in London has made it extra special. Made it a good omen for me tonight. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I can imagine it was tough this year. Some world-class players in the room tonight. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees tonight and impressive showing determination and hard work can really achieve."

"An incredible year for me last year - something I am extremely proud of. The best season I have had without a doubt. To score this amount of goals is a total team effort. I have a great team around me who keep me humble and keep me grounded. My wife Kate, we're in this together. I know this wouldn't be possible without you."

"Mum and dad - what a moment. All those years, the sacrifice, the support you gave me. Taking me to training, coming to watch me play. No matter where it was, even to this day you're there. All those traits you have given me have allowed me to be successful and be here tonight."

Not the best start to the evening 😅

The official Ballon d'Or website accidentally published three articles claiming Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappe, and Lamine Yamal had won the 2026 Ballon d'Or.

They released a statement on the site reading:
"These articles had been prepared in advance for all nominees in the event of a win. They do not, in any way, reveal the podium, which remains unknown to everyone at this time."
