This is Tony, the softball coach at @AthleticsAU. His team did not play in our tournament this weekend. It would've been his first weekend to be home. Instead, he is here (at a rival school) making sure the players in our conference have a great field. That's #whyd3. @HCACDIII
Adult field day today. Thanks to our friends at the @HorizonLeague for always making sure the smaller conferences around town are able to have a community of sports professionals to enjoy fun with.
Always fun to have a visit and get some history lessons from someone that gave 10+ years to the @HCACDIII and loves it deeply. #theheartofD3@RetHCACcommish
Had a great day hosting some amazing @HanoverCollege students here at the @HCACDIII office as they chose to study our organization for a group project! Thank you for a wonderful visit, sharing your goals with our team & reminding us what makes our conference the #HeartofD3 🤍
@d3hoopsville Valid, and I wonder if that is one major pragmatic problem here - can you do one without creeping too close to the other? I do think there is a fair consensus to avoid the regional model.
@d3hoopsville - When did I say I wanted a DII bracket in this interview? I said we should look at DII's rules that protect top seeds. National brackets > regional brackets.
Completely agree with Matt and a little disappointed with Jones on this one. We do NOT want a DII bracket and go back to the “dark” ages when we had geographic only brackets. Back when “bracket of death” was a real thing. #d3hoops
NEW EXTRA POINTS:
Bowl season might be in trouble at the FBS level, but in D-III, it's growing.
I talked to a few folks behind DIII's newest bowl games to better understand why these games exist and how they work:

@wagssid Actually a really cool idea. I studied this ‘court’ when I landed - it’s temporary for all-star weekend but seems close to (if not) regulation size. The floor is actually a decal and not hardwood.
So grateful for @HSheilley having served as chair of the @NCAADIII management council this year. It’s a ton of work and your @HCACDIII family appreciate your service! @TransySports
@HCACDIII@NCAC@OHAthleticConf@PAC_Athletics This is an exciting opportunity for the @HCACDIII football student-athletes and football in our region. We are thrilled to partner with several of our regional conferences on this fun event.
@emmyloux44 Easy - because you care about good service to your members. If you aren’t a little nervous before or a little tired after, the meeting wasn’t likely that important to you.
Congratulations to you @Coach_Fries. We will miss you in the @HCACDIII. It’s a special compliment to coaches like @CoachSokolRHIT when their assistants are recognized and rewarded.
