Today, MPPs Jamie West, Wayne Gates, and France Gélinas re-introduced our anti-scab bill to protect workers’ rights.

For 8 years, this government has claimed to “protect workers” yet time and time again, they’ve stood by while workers’ rights are undermined.

When workers are locked out, employers can still bring in scab labour - dragging out disputes, creating division, and weakening the right to bargain fairly. There’s no incentive to negotiate in good faith if workers can simply be replaced.

Our bill would ban replacement workers during strikes and lockouts, protecting collective bargaining and keeping pressure where it belongs: on reaching a fair deal.
