I’d love to know how much $$$ on his nose it took in that large of a win pool to move his odds from 10-1 at 0 MTP to 9-1 loading to 7-1 out of the gate.

Sometimes the speed of the speed wins, even in fields loaded w/frontrunners, and payoffs can be juicy. I like Napoleon Solo in this scenario today. There's so much chatter about an early pace duel, that some riders are sure to take back early. And here is some good info from DRF:

Horseplayers have to take action. I lowered my annual by 90% when the CAW issue arose a few yrs ago. I also submit brutally honest surveys whenever I am sent one by an industry entity.

Worst late odds changes I have ever seen. I have lowered my annual handle by 90% and only wager on big event days now, but it may be time to consider not wagering at all.
