Koree Cotton feels like a future NBA player to me.

He’s a good shooter, a good defender, and has real size.

The question is what his role looks like with less on-ball usage at DePaul. If the three-point volume rises, his stock could take off.

How does Koree Cotton Fit at DePaul?

DePaul completed its six-man transfer portal class with the signing of UTRGV wing Koree Cotton. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound Cotton was a dynamic two-way wing for the Vaqueros where he was named first-team All-Southland and also to the league's All-Defensive team last season.

Becoming a consistent scoring threat at UTRGV, Cotton grew from a role player at Jacksonville State to a double-figure contributor. Showcasing all-around versatility, Cotton shot 40 percent from 3-point range and added at least one block and one steal per game on the defensive end in 2025-26.

Over the last two seasons, Cotton's transfer addition coincided with significant improvements from both programs he played for. During Cotton's sophomore season at Jacksonville State, a preseason projection of 219 on KenPom turned into the Gamecocks finishing at 108 while qualifying for the NIT and beating Georgia Tech on the road in the first round...
