Last night I had the chance to meet with first-term Democrats in Congress—it's a young, diverse class, stocked with a bunch of my campaign and administration alums who’ve taken the torch. This group is going to be driving progress for a long time to come.
The shutdown’s impact on federal workers is bad enough, but the FBI is also losing counter-terrorism sources and is unable to fund key efforts to target terror suspects, drug traffickers and sexual predators.
Time to reopen the government and stop putting our security at risk.
Typically a president starts the State of the Union address by saying, “The state of our union is strong.”
Does Trump really want to start his off by saying, “The state of our union is...closed.”
Reopen the government, Mr. President. Citizens first. Ceremony later.
This is what Christmas season looks like in Trumpland:
-Take away paychecks of 800,000 workers by shutting the government.
-Take away $1.40 meals from 755,000 hungry, unemployed Americans.
- Give Pfizer a $26.5 billion tax cut after it increased the price of life saving drugs.
Many people think that patience is a sign of weakness. I think this is a mistake. It is anger that is a sign of weakness, whereas patience is a sign of strength.
