⬆️ @Telegraph reports that Israel struck Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon in response to a Hezbollah ceasefire violation - and later updates the story to note that two IDF soldiers were killed by Hezbollah explosives.
⬇️ @Independent_ie republishes that same Telegraph report, but without the update - and gives it a headline of its own:
“Israel breaks ceasefire.”
Same story. The Hezbollah violation dismissed. Israel gets the blame.
This is awkward for Israel haters. When a UN (no friend of Israel) organization (UNESCO) debunks the lie that Israel was "starving kids" it's worth a read. Israel genocidal? They botched it again!
United Nations study shatters Gaza starvation narrative https://t.co/fBF9v2ql2K

On This Day — August 5, 1391
A century before the expulsion, Barcelona’s Jews were massacred in an orgy of violence that lasted nearly a week.
News had just arrived that the Jews of Mallorca had been slaughtered. Within hours, a mob of local sailors, laborers, peasants, and about 50 Castilians set fire to the wooden gates of the Jewish Call near what is now Plaça de Sant Jaume.
They looted Jewish houses.
They dragged Jewish families into the streets.
They were given a choice: convert or die. 100 who refused conversion were murdered on the spot while the survivors fled to the Castell Nou. Two days later, the mob managed to storm the fortress and murder another 300 Barcelona Jews. After that, many others finally accepted baptism under the threat of certain death.
One of the great Jewish communities of Spain was effectively erased and never recovered. In total, the 1391 riots saw Spain’s Jewish population reduced by one-third and set the road to the Inquisition and the 1492 expulsion.
Spain today lectures Israel on morality while Jews are again chased through its streets and conspiracy theories blaming the Jewish state for a migrant crisis in Ceuta spread with official indulgence. Some countries have a talent for forgetting their own history while demanding the world remember everyone else’s.
People say Israel “buys” American politicians. So let’s follow the money.
Abdul El-Sayed built his campaign around attacking Israel and AIPAC, accusing the organization of buying influence, punishing critics of Israel, and using antisemitism to silence opposition. After narrowly defeating Rep. Haley Stevens, he framed AIPAC’s spending against him as retaliation for his opposition to U.S. military aid to Israel.
So what is AIPAC really? For starters, it's not a foreign lobby. It's an American organization, and compared with the biggest power players in Washington, its spending is far from exceptional. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Realtors, Amazon, and other major corporations spend far more on lobbying and elections.
Israel doesn’t control American politics. So why is so much attention focused on it?

UTTERLY DESPICABLE.
Current Affairs @curaffairs has published a vile feature effectively justifying the Oct. 7 Hamas massacre.
It even changed the headline to make the victim-blaming more explicit.
What follows:
• Invented scenes
• Basic factual errors
• Euphemisms for terrorism
• Incorrect citations
• An explicit Nazi Germany analogy
The failures begin in the first five words. They get worse from there. 🧵

Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, was over 80% Christian under Israeli control.
In 1995, the Palestinian Authority took over.
After 30 years, Bethlehem is now less than 10% Christian.
This is what ethnic cleansing looks like.
On This Day — August 1, 1298
One of the great Torah scholars of his generation was murdered with his entire family.
In Nuremberg, a mob butchered 48-year-old Rabbi Mordechai ben Hillel, his wife, and their five children. Their crime? They were seven of the 628 Jews in the city who refused to abandon their faith.
This was part of the Rindfleisch massacres, a wave of coordinated slaughter that began in April 1298 after a host-desecration accusation. A man known as Rindfleisch claimed a divine mission to wipe out the Jews and led mobs from town to town across Franconia.
The Jews of Nuremberg took refuge in the fortress and tried to defend themselves. Some Christian citizens attempted to help them. It was not enough. The attackers forced their way in and slaughtered them.
Rabbi Mordechai was a student of Rabbi Meir of Rothenburg and related to the Rosh. His writings would later be cited throughout the Shulchan Aruch.
On August 1, 1298, the scholar, the husband, and the father of five was cut down with his family for remaining Jewish.
The Rindfleisch massacres of 1298 destroyed roughly 146 Jewish communities.
Nuremberg was one of the bloodiest days in that campaign.
Last week, Raul Morales stabbed an Asian man in the back on a Manhattan street.
He then walked several blocks to an Orthodox synagogue, where he shouted “Justice for Islam” and “Allahu akbar” before stabbing a Jewish man with a screwdriver.
Police suggested mental illness may have played a role, and @NYCMayor quickly repeated that explanation.
When officials rush to medicalize terrorism, they obscure the motive, minimize the danger, and teach the public to ignore its warning signs.
No amount of medication or mental health care will address violence committed in the name of Allah. The problem is not mental illness. It's Islamist terrorism.

Spain ordered the expulsion of its Jews.
The Alhambra Decree gave roughly 200,000 Jews four months to convert or leave. Most chose exile.
Tens of thousands died on the roads and at sea. Some captains took their payment and threw them overboard. Others were murdered by brigands searching their bodies for swallowed jewels. Those who fled to Portugal faced forced baptism or further expulsion.
The survivors became the Sephardim. Their language, Ladino, carried a Spanish-Hebrew mix into new lands for centuries.
The Inquisition continued hunting “conversos," Jews who had been forced to convert but were still suspected of secretly practicing Judaism. For the first time, Jewishness was treated as something unchangeable because it was in the Jews' blood.
One of the richest and most accomplished Jewish communities in the world was destroyed almost overnight.
It took Spain until 1968 to formally revoke the decree.
For centuries, every ideology has found a way to blame Jews for what it sees as wrong with the world.
@MattiFriedman explains how Gaza, Israel and “Zionists” are now being used to repackage that same ancient instinct as scholarship, activism, analysis and news.
The language changed. The story did not.

The Arab Muslim colonization of the Jewish homeland began with invasion.
In 636–638 CE, the armies of Caliph Umar conquered the Land of Israel.
Nearly 55 years later, in 691–692, they built the Dome of the Rock directly on the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism for more than 1,700 years where two Jewish Temples had stood.
The Al-Aqsa Mosque followed around 715 CE.
Then came the systematic degradation of the indigenous Jews.
In 717 CE, crushing taxes drove many Jews off their ancestral land.
In 720 CE, Caliph Umar II banned Jews from worshipping on the Temple Mount entirely.
That ban lasted more than 1,200 years; and, in practice, the ban continues to this day under Muslim control of the site.
Jews were reduced to humiliated dhimmis (second-class “infidels” in their own homeland).
This was not coexistence.
It was Arab colonization followed by attempted Jewish erasure.
The Jews did not “colonize” the Land of Israel.
They are its indigenous people.
Some never left. Others returned in every generation whenever conditions allowed. Political Zionism in the late 19th century was the modern expression of that unbroken connection, culminating in the restoration of Jewish sovereignty.
History does not begin in the 7th century.
Jewish roots in the Land of Israel go back more than 3,000 years.
The “genocide” accusation against Israel is not new.
It is not a reaction to current events.
It's been used for 70+ years, starting in the 1950s.
The lie never changed.
Only the decade did.
On the gradual (and very recent) invention of the "Palestinian" identity:
"When the PLO was founded in 1964, Israel didn’t control the West Bank or Gaza. Jordan controlled the West Bank and Egypt controlled Gaza. Because of this, the original 1964 Palestine Liberation Organization Charter disclaimed those territories. Article 24 of the charter states that it “does not exercise any territorial sovereignty over the West Bank in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the Gaza Strip or in the Himmah Area. Their only goal in 1964 was the destruction of Israel. It was only after Israel captured the West Bank and Gaza in 1967 that the Palestine Liberation Organization suddenly rewrote their charter in 1968. Only then did they claim those exact territories as the historic Palestinian homeland."

❌️ Calling Jewish Israelis visiting the Temple Mount an "incursion" of "trespassers"
❌️ Casting doubt on the existence of the two Jewish temples
❌️ Calling the Old City "occupied East Jerusalem"
These are all classic hallmarks of @AJEnglish propaganda.
Does @YahooNews actually know what it's sharing or does it just hit "re-publish" with no editorial oversight?
The only lie here is Zachary's. The Arabs have been promising to push the Jews into the sea for decades. For example, here is a cover of the Egyptian military magazine "Peace in the Army," published just before the Six-Day War, showing Israelis literally pushed into the sea.
On This Day — July 26, 1944
The Red Army entered Lwow, Poland (today’s Lviv, Ukraine) and found a Jewish city wiped off the map.
Before the war, more than 100,000 Jews lived there (1/3 of the population; one of the three largest Jewish communities in Poland). The city pulsed with Yiddish, synagogues, schools, trade, and centuries of Galician Jewish life.
That world was destroyed in three years.
When the Germans seized the city in June 1941, Ukrainian nationalists and local collaborators, encouraged by the Germans, launched immediate pogroms. Thousands were murdered in the streets. The ghetto followed. Tens of thousands were deported to Belzec. Others were marched to the Janowska camp and shot in the sand pits known as “the Sands.”
In June 1943, the ghetto was liquidated with systematic fury. Buildings were burned with people still inside. Bunkers were blown up. The remaining Jews were hunted by SS, German police, and Ukrainian auxiliaries.
By the time Soviet forces arrived on July 26–27, 1944, the work was complete. Only a few hundred Jews remained alive (less than 1% of the pre-war community). Most had survived only by living for more than a year in the sewers.
The Soviets found a ghost city. More than 40 synagogues stood empty or destroyed. The homes, the schools, and the shops were all gone. The Jewish third of Lwow had been erased.
The Red Army ended the German occupation, but the Soviets were no liberators of Jewish life. During their earlier occupation (1939–1941), they had already deported thousands of Jewish refugees. After 1944, the tiny remnant faced hostility, an attempted pogrom in 1945, pressure to leave, and later anti-“cosmopolitan” campaigns. Most survivors eventually departed.
Today, the world knows Lviv mainly through the current war with Russia. Almost nothing remains of the vibrant Jewish city that once stood there. One functioning synagogue (Tsori Gilod) survives after decades as a warehouse.
The ruins of the Golden Rose, once the city’s oldest synagogue, serve as a fragile memorial.
Scattered plaques and faded Hebrew lettering on old buildings are all that hint at what was lost. The living Jewish community numbers only in the low hundreds.
A major center of East European Jewish civilization was reduced, in three years, to silence.
"Israel claimed..."
That's how @ABC describes one of the most extensively documented examples of Hamas exploiting civilian infrastructure.
Al-Shifa wasn't just a hospital. It was also:
▪️A Hamas command center.
▪️Built over a tunnel network.
▪️Used to store weapons.
▪️Used to shelter terrorists after October 7.
▪️The site where hostage Noa Marciano was murdered.
That's established evidence, not merely an Israeli allegation.
I need everyone to share this, please. This is Diana. She is only 16, and the Islamic regime of Iran wants to execute her for protesting for freedom. Be her voice. Help make this go viral. She deserves to live.
