A British university is teaching that orcs are “demonized people of color.”

Say what now?

According to a course called Decolonising Tolkien, orcs and dark-skinned characters like the Southrons are victims of “ethnic chauvinism” based on “anti-African antipathy.”

One scholar claims Tolkien’s fantasy world is secretly a hotbed of racism.

Never mind that Tolkien hated racism, rejected Nazi race tests, and mocked the idea of being “Aryan.”

These critics ignore that orcs are corrupted elves, not humans... and definitely not metaphors for any real race.

It’s like saying Frankenstein’s monster represents ableism or that Godzilla is anti-Japan.

Tolkien’s world is about unity.

Hobbits, dwarves, and elves teaming up to defeat evil.

Some villains are pale, some heroes are poor. Race isn’t the point.

Unity is. To fight the evil tyrannical oppressor. Shouldn’t that be a left-wing value too?

Now, academia is rewriting fantasy stories with modern outrage goggles, trying to “decolonize” fiction that never colonized anything to begin with.

Middle-earth was never about skin color, but this nonsense sure is a masterclass in missing the point.
