@Denny2point0 @LowBoomLowDrift Definitely not a BTO and I thought it was a great opportunity to see new seed varieties, talk newer chemicals, find fixes for equipment already owned, and see new smaller tech. Probably my curios mind but I find learning more interesting than sitting at the lake.

@405farmer Probably won’t buy anything but it’s a great opportunity to gather information and talk to techie leads that we wouldn’t normally have access to. Always time for a beer at the end of the day and reconnect.

@olblue81 @scottyshog Still large seeds and I found the same as Scott, in that an extra bag or two were thrown in for the very large seeds. Survivability of large seeds was good but thinking risk would increase if low seeding rates were used.

@LeeFortin Farmers and consumers did not demand hybrid canola, soybeans or corn. Most farmers have adopted them because of the benefits. If hybrid wheat shows a ROI farmers will adopt it also. Most consumers just want affordable food.

2026 might be the year of reckoning for those pushing rotations with peas. 3 or 4 dry years and we think we are bulletproof.

@RussHerold12 6 yrs is what we do on some of our fields. Others are 10 yrs to never again.

@LaycockMark Root rot pathogens survive in the soil a long time. Hopefully plant breeders will develope resistant varieties similar to canola with clubroot. 🤞

@Jttjason This field has had 260 mm (10.5”) and is a clay loam. Your gumbo soils are a different beast to manage. Very likely won’t be standing this nice come harvest.

This field was in grass until six years ago and never had peas before. They are looking fabulous so far.

@BresaylorView A neighbour was four yrs. Not looking very good this year. We have gone six yrs on rolly, well drained land. Flat fields we rotate with other crops.

@pat_kunz This was our forecast for the day with a heat warning. Hit a high of 27. Thinking they just want to show an increase in heat warnings issued over previous years.
