@Linahuaa@kurenbuku Why is it that every time one of these great Chinese innovations are seen outside of official propaganda channels, they’re completely useless? Robots can’t move without guy hiding remote control behind his back, evs break down or blow up constantly, fake battery mileage.
@Linahuaa@kurenbuku Chinese ai is overfitted on benchmarks. No one, even Chinese, use it on a daily basis. Elons 2 ai companies? One of which basically started the entire revolution? By far the most used. The entire Chinese rocket industry combined doesn’t compete with SpaceX. In quality or cadence.
@Linahuaa@kurenbuku Yes grok and Optimus aren’t great. Still better than Chinese slop. Wow deepseek make such advancements in distilling us models. How great.
@JJMcElroy@elonmusk Why would you want to trust your life to a system that’s pretty good? FSD will always have poor performance in weather or conditions that aren’t optimal. Oh, there’s fog around a bend and your self-driving car is using cameras to guess if there’s another car there? Good luck.
@elonmusk The best engineers on the planet at Lockheed, Northrop, and Raytheon all do pretty well with sensor fusion and find it to be essential in complex environments where one sensing modality isn’t performing optimally. Yet Elon can’t get it to work. Seems like a skill issue.
@higureshuuen@JaxJacksonw1fk I think declining birth rates are a good thing. The price of everything will go down, apartments will become cheap, cities less crowded, then when things become cheap enough, birth rates will go up again. Supply and demand.
@KrakenUnbound@Hitchslap1 In China, only half of students go to high school. The lower scorers are forced into trade schools. Pretty doubtful the trade school kids are iq tested.
@KrakenUnbound@Hitchslap1 White people in us are about 102 as well. IQ scoring is calculated to make the average iq in a population 100. The us actually reports a representative population whereas china and japan report the averages of areas that tend to be upper middle class. The actual diff is smaller.
@BobasoyNPC@chrisschmitz And during normal peacetime missions us stealth planes have radar reflectors on them especially when near Russia or China to hide the true radar signature.
@BobasoyNPC@chrisschmitz Nope, but the purging of the lead designer right after the failure of their radar systems makes one think there are very serious problems. The only way to truly test a stealth defeating radar is on a stealth plane. So what happens if the test plane isn’t stealth?
@Aeneasthasion@orntwo@VivetVeritate Not too big of a hurdle if you want to trade with Cuba. Just stop in the us first. It’s only 90 miles away. It’s almost like that sanction is to stop the flow of goods from Cuba to the us.
@ELNVdc@TKohoto The hilarious thing is Europeans rarely travel out of Europe but make fun of Americans for not traveling out of the us. Oh wow you took a train 2 hours and visited 5 countries? So worldly.
@TKohoto Something I realized a while ago is that you can reduce every European criticism of the us to “they don’t do x exactly like Europe so it’s wrong and immoral”. Like literally everything. No nuance, no openness to other ways of thinking. Everything they do is perfection.
@BobasoyNPC@chrisschmitz Not coincidentally, after decades of lying about capabilities, rushing out half built systems, and not rigorously testing them bc if it fails they’ll purge you, you find yourself with an underperforming weapons ecosystem.
@BobasoyNPC@chrisschmitz The vast majority of their public facing propaganda/psyops are done with the purpose of exaggerating their capabilities. Authoritarian countries can’t allow the people to know that the aren’t the greatest strongest most technologically advanced country ever.
@BobasoyNPC@chrisschmitz Sure the us amplifies the failures. But if you want to check if it’s true, look at the recent purges of the j-20 lead designer/design team and tons in radar design. How did they know their radar was stealth defeating? They tested it on the non-stealth j-20.
@zapatas_mom Probably the single worst question I’ve ever read. 2 bedroom condos in a city cost more than the majority of 4 bedroom suburban houses. So you’re paying more for less space, freedom, security, no yard, no garage and on and on.
