@imoteda Next Time is not on this list because of you 🤭😘
also, Dora had the full backing of the president she served under. we shouldn't miss this context! NAFDAC was well funded and she took on large corporations and won because the president was willing to expend political capital for her cause.
You see the way Seyi Tinubu moves around in convoy and plenty DSS agents wasting tax payers money, I just say I should remind you that Atiku has 45 children. That’s all.
This beast killed my primary school friends, six of my neighbours and he almost killed me too.
Christmas Day, 2011.
I was at St. Theresa's Catholic Church fetching water from their borehole because December is usually dry season in the North. Harmattan, dry skin and dry wells.
Our neighbours who were Catholics were already inside the church, singing and dancing. I think Father Achi was the one in charge of the parish back then and was presiding over the service.
I was with my wheelbarrow that i used in carrying water i fetched at the back of the priest's quarters when my friends saw me. They were outside buying sweets from the Hausa vendors.
We linked up for a bit. We talked. We laughed. After some time, they told me they were going inside because it was time for them to give their offerings.
I picked up my wheelbarrow and started leaving while they ran back to the church and that was when i heard the blast.
My ears immediately went deaf.
The force of the explosion pushed me to the ground. My gallons fell over and water started leaking everywhere.
I was in a trance.
I could see the smoke.
I could see people running towards the church and some out of it.
But I couldn't hear anything.
It was completely silent.
And that was when I saw them.
My friends.
Lying on the floor close to the church entrance.
The same boys I had just been laughing with a few seconds earlier.
Kalu.
John.
Ben.
Samson.
Tony.
That was when i stood up and ran home crying.
I was a child. I didn't understand terrorism. I didn't understand religious extremism. I didn't understand why somebody would want to blow up a church on Christmas Day.
That day changed something in me forever. This isn't something I read about in the news.
I was there.
And somehow, I survived.
People talk about terrorism in Nigeria using numbers.
How many people died.
How many were injured.
How many churches were attacked.
But behind every number are people with actual names.
People who had friends.
People who had families.
People who were supposed to go home that Christmas afternoon.
Bitch, you’re Black *and* Nigerian. Your president is a functional vegetable who will likely rule you for another four years. You have insurgents threatening your existence in your own backyard and you can’t do fuck all about it. You wake up every day knowing that one day you may have to pay a ransom praying that your body or that of someone you love is at least recovered in time for a proper funeral. You could be dispossessed of everything you own in one sweep. Your life expectancy is shit and there is no lifeline. You are one arrest away from becoming another forgotten sheep in a broken system, one medical emergency away from becoming a dead fly. Your offspring were already in danger before ever being born.
So wherever women’s rights are being taken away, you are still doomed. Doomed as a Nigerian. Doomed as a Black man. Because wherever you go, your rights are next. You too are standing on rights that were fought for, given legal protection, and can be taken away. And any machinery of oppression that comes for women’s rights will come for yours too. You will have no freedom and no dignity.
You are still under the feet and mercy of the white man, still doomed in every universe. Still a lame horse waiting to be put down. Worry about your fate and we’ll worry about ours.
Or you may not. You should also be willing to hold the possibility that you may not and still be committed to living a full, meaningful life regardless.
Everyone is stepping up their PR game and Mo Abudu pulled out a PJ for the cast of The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s wives.
This December will be hot and I am ready for it 🥳🥳🥳
English Alhaji has started releasing the details of the people that are threatening to keeeel him.

Hi guys.
I’ve been shuttling LASUTH for days now because a loved one had a car accident. But there’s a kid beside his bed who’s just 12yrs old. His name is Suleiman.
His left leg was amputated (hit and run) but he can’t leave here because his mum can’t pay his bills (430k+)
buenos días chicas no se les olvide ser groseras e imprudentes con los hombres que se crucen, nunca se sabe cuál de esos está teniendo un buen día sin merecerlo
It's been 48 hours+ My sister boarded a flight from Lagos International Airport to Doha Qatar 🇶🇦 (QR 1408) on Tuesday, 2nd flight ✈️ we communicate last on air via WhatsApp before her arrival because she was connected with the WiFi.
And same was the person who is to pick her up in the airport was waiting already, the problem is the flight landed safely but he never gets to see her, he reach out to the desk, and airline who told him she ✈️ has pick up her lounges, the confusing part of this is, she's someone not new to airports.... because she have worked for almost 12 years hear in Lagos Airport.
Till now I can't reach her phone's, online, I don't even know what went wrong, did she meet someone who brain-wash her in the plane ? Am just confused, she's not even a child she's (37) and always want to be independent, and hardwork... this her first time flying abroad and had no friends in Qatar, none, she paid for her accommodation and everything sorted out months ahead before the journey, the man who worked out everything is a family friend for long, and she was to resume work in Doha weeks after arrival.
I told the Agent to file a report with the Authorities which we have been communicating well so we can see the CCTV camera 📷 footage of her 'last seen' and identify who was with her last that can give us a lead.
I don't even know what to tell mum, who has been hoping to hear from her since for the pass 48hours + 😕 Jesus, take control please.
It wasn't a free offer she worked and financed everything from scratch 😭
where do I start from I don't even know if this is the real Nigeria embassy's account on X to tag. @DohaEmbassy
If you are reading this please help retweet 🙏 that's more than gold to me right now, God bless you for that 👏
How come every other time a male is on trial for a heinous crime, none of you are opposed to a male president or male voting rights, but when it’s a woman then suddenly women shouldn’t vote and shouldn’t be in politics? Mind you, males commit more crimes on average.
