Born in Jos, Bewene began his football journey at TBC Academy before moving to Central FC in Abuja, quietly building the foundation that would take him to Europe. In the summer of 2023, aged just 18, he made the move to Czech Republic top-flight club FC Baník Ostrava. Rather than being rushed, he was loaned out to lower-division clubs Havířov and Kroměříž to develop physically and tactically.

His breakthrough came in the 2025/26 season when he made his first-team debut against Sparta Prague and gradually established himself as a regular starter. By the end of the campaign he had made 38 appearances across multiple positions, right back, right midfield, and attacking midfielder making him one of the most versatile Nigerians in European football at his age.

When Bright Osayi-Samuel withdrew from the squad ahead of the Poland friendly, Coach Chelle handed Bewene a late call-up. Within days of arriving in camp, he was handed a starting berth and delivered a debut performance that left Nigerian fans asking: where did Eric Chelle get this boy from? 🦅
